In Manny's case he took pregger drugs, not really a direct indicator of PED's but obvious intent there. The point is I don't know what he took, when he took it, how long he took it, how it impacted his performance, etc. Exactly the same thing with Braun.

Good luck, great topic by the way.
Pretty close for me. I would have taken out Kessel for Giroux personally, I think hes made more of an impact on a Flyers team without any leadership. He's really stepped up into his role this year.

Notre Dame tops this list hands down. I'll never understand how you could root for a school that you have zero ties to. I remember asking a fan why he likes Notre Dame and he couldn't even give me an answer. The guy wasn't Irish and he was Jewish. How does that make sense?

I guess Harrison should just rip Fitzpatrick's helmet off and punch him three times. According to the NFL that's basically the same thing.

Good TD Outlaw, kind of a weird topic but I think we both did well.

Well he did walk on water, so it's certainly possible.

I found this site http://www.athensmarathon.com/marathon/history.html

According to this the 1896 Men's event started at the Marathon Bridge and ended in the Olympic stadium in Athens. The basis of the marathon was credited to the Pheidippies story. The event was changed to the 26 mile format in 1908 during the London games so it would go all the way to White City Stadium.

We can keep going around in circles about what "could" have happened had neither of these runs occured. But the fact of the matter is both of these runs lead to athletic events in the future.

Athens to Sparta to Athens - 150 miles each way
Marathon to Athens - 26 miles or 22 miles, the route is disputed, but the marathon ran during the 1896 Olympics ran the 26 mile route and is considered the basis for the modern marathon. The difference in miles was because some believe he went around the mountain, and some think he went a different route through the mountain.

I got all of this from wikipedia, so it could be wrong. But I don't really feel the need to properly cite sources on fannation boards.

You're being very hypocritial with your arguments here. The Marathon was the basis for the modern marathon, the Nome run was the basis for the modern Iditarod. Basically every argument you've used against me thus far I can use against you as well. Do you really think people would never race dog sleds without the Nome race?
Posted Monday November 29, 2010, About: JAubin Fall Classic- More Important Historically...
And do people run the Iditarod just because of the Nome run? Or because they want to test themselves and their abilities as mushers? The Marathon run was the blueprint behind the modern marathon race.

No one is making the SEC teams stay in their conference. If they want to **** and moan about how tough their schedule is they can give back all the money they get and move to C-USA or the ACC. Playing the best schedule doesn't mean you're the best team.

I'd be perfectly fine if Pitt just axed its football program. I'm getting tired of watching barely .500 football and going to pre-xmas bowl games that people don't even watch.

I'm going to try to get to this tomorrow. Usually Sundays and Mondays are busy. I have to work about 12 hours tomorrow and I have class tomorrow night, so I'll try to fit everything in.

On Friday we're tailgating the Pitt game with a deep-fried turkey and beer. I'll probably sleep through the first half.

Very tough call. I think Hobbes made slightly better arguments so I am going with him, but extremely close.
