I have long held the belief that if given the choice to own a piece of a team, the overwhelming majority would choose to own part of the Lakers. That is to say, even non-fans of the Lakers know what the best team is. The coaching decision is not for a franchise that is satisfied with making a respectable playoff run. This is about getting the 17th chip. This is LA! D'Antoni will need to adapt to the roster and realize what kind of pressure he is about to be under.

Kobe is a polarizing player for sure, but he isn't that far off from players like Jordan or Tiger Woods. He just didn't have a PR person to pull the wool over some fans' eyes for several years. He is driven for one goal and one goal only: a championship. I would challenge someone to name a player that Kobe said something to or about that wasn't true. Bynum, Kobe was on point. Gasol, up and down emotionally. Shaq, got in shape for his first season in Miami to prove a point to the Lakers then went back to his same old lazy self. Kwame Brown, by mentioning him this says something about your perspective. Smush Parker, people wouldn't even know who he was if he wasn't on the court with Kobe.

Besides the situation with Shaq, I don't remember him wrecking a locker room. Kobe may have been wrong for "ratting" on Shaq, but Shaq is to blame also. Why wait until September to have surgery on a toe that you know was hurt all summer? Why do we have to hear about Shaq playing his way into shape in February or March? Things like that grated on Kobe because he wants to win it all every year.

I think you are seeing the real Ty Lawson. I have been watching him play since he was a freshman in high school and I have never seen him as a player who lets off the gas. As a comparison, I also saw Michael Beasley in high school and I could have told anyone back then that he had issues.

Those few years in the DC area produced Ty Lawson, Greivis Vasquez, Nolan Smith, Dante Cunningham, Michael Beasley and...Devin Durant just to name the most notable.

Are you calling Andre Miller a go-to guy? If so, wow. He is a nice complimentary player and seems like a nice guy, but he would not come close to being what I would call a go-to player.

Yes, there was a little more to it than that; Colorado did play a part. However, Shaq seemed like he was totally innocent at the time and that wasn't the case at all. Notice what Shaq did different his first year in Miami? He was in shape and played most of the season. He wanted to win so he could prove something to the Lakers. Well, after that one season he went back to his old ways and look what happened. I am a sports fan and huuuuuuge Lakers fan, but I am also realistic. I root for these guys based on what they do between the lines. I realize that their ability to play sports does not make them a role model for me to follow. Basically, I could have had someone rat me out back in the day when I was stroking the streets. That has nothing to do with the Lakers winning championships.

The truth is he has always been like that and the big flap between him and Kobe was more about his sensitivity. Kobe wanted him to come into camp in shape so they could keep winning. Instead, Shaq waits until September to have a surgery that he needed all off season. That is the kind of thing that drove Kobe crazy.

How about this: Cuban trades one of his businesses and the Mavs for the Lakers. The Buss family only has the Lakers from what I understand so they would make out in the deal. The Lakers would do well under Cuban's leadership. Mark Cuban, LA and the Lakers? Championship Chemistry.

His main problem is his height/athleticism combination. He will probably measure at 6'7" and he can't jump over a phone book. That is not going to work in the NBA. I think he should stay in college and really work on his body more.

It seems like there are a lot of people who don't really know CJ Watson except for reading up on his stats. In 21.5 minutes per game Watson is averaging 40% from the field, 43% from behind the three-point line, 3.9 assists per game, 9.8 ppg and 1 steal per game. In comparison, in 24.9 minutes per game Blake is averaging 38% from the field, 33% from behind the three-point line, 3.6 assists per game, 5.9 ppg and .7 steals per game. Bottom line: Watson is an upgrade.

Now, what is not mentioned is Watson is a guy you can have on your team and are glad you have him. He is a relatively quiet guy that goes about his business with professionalism. Not saying Blake is a bad guy, but Watson is a good player. Watson is also 4 years younger.
