1. Penske
2. An extra year part time in Cup before a Hendrick ride
3. 3rd car at Stewart-Haas
Is there ANY WAY IN HE// you take the Penske ride?
And what has "racing back" gotten? Only one of the greatest finishes in NASCAR history. The 1979 Daytona 500 ended with a fight (literally) between Donnie Allison and Cale Yarborough. At one point earlier in the race, those two were a combined 5 laps down, but got them all back and ended up crashing fighting for the win. Think that would have happened with the Lucky Dog and double file lead lap restarts? I don't think so.
I also would like to give Mayfield enough credit that he can sink his ship without help.
And yeah, I know he's his own boss.
But if JGR wants to start a 4th team, doesn't Truex want to not come back to....what's the team name now? DEI? EGM? The team Theresa owns? "Oh, yeah, them"?
Looking for the best PGA acronym along those lines.
And Petty has the name.
