Why is this some kind of miracle morale win for the Mexicans? They won at home at the Azteca.... big deal!! That's what they ALWAYS do. It sounds like the bigger issue is that they are more happy that they didn't LOSE at home! I think that almost every Mexican fan pictured that horror scenario as a not so far fetched reality. The show of emotion wasn't for the postive win, it was for the lack of a negative loss. That's not confidence, that's pathetic.

It's the fan sections that I tend to have an issue with. I live on the west coast and have had the opportuntiy to attend both Galaxy and Earthquake games. While I'm no saint and my kids have heard their share of foul language from me, I don't enjoy sitting next to the fan sections when they start their tirade of swearing, in foreign languages and English, and insults. I get that this is an adult event and we can't make it strictly a PG affair. So, we make sure not to sit within 2-3 sections of a fan zone and live and let live. It definitely shouldn't take on an atmosphere of open hostility though. Thse fan clubs aren't criminal organizations.

The Mexican Federation can see his value, they watch him play all the time. At this point it's almost a competition to see who can get him on the field in the 89th minute to commit him to their side for life. If Mexico can get him just one cap then they haven't just added a player, they've taken a potential option away from the US. Let's see how smart Bob Bradley is in the next two qualifiers against minnow teams with his fielding. A strategic coach plays him as a sub one time. A tactical coach plays the best players only. But he also left Johnsonon the roster for way too long... so we'll see.

J. HOVA... that comment about Wynalda is the funniest I've seen on this blog yet. I don't completely agree, but I see where you're coming from. The league, and especially the referees, needs some honest criticism and he was the only provider.

Hopefully Lalas' snake oil salesman days in MLS are over. He doesn't have the answers and really doesn't have a clue how to manage a team.

He was dumped because he's an American. If he was Spanish, German, or even from Lichtenstein (wherever that is), he'd have been kept on or picked up by another club already. His association with Fulham and being let go has tainted him. No Euro coach is going to pick up an American let go by a team that's barely avoided regulation two seasons in a row. I'd liek to see MLS rasie it's overall salary level to encourage more of these "middel class" type foreing players to look seriously at MLS. Maybe if we could offer a slightly better salary it would attract ,and help to retain, decent players who could improve the overall level of the league. Not everyone can be a superstar or DP. We need more solid professionals.

Not sure what Bocanegra did to get in the out's like this. He was the what, 2d or 3d highest scorer last season and can hold his own internationally as well. At just 29 I don't wnt to see him in a second level league anywhere like Denmark or whatever. Might as well come home.

Who cares how old he is? If Capello is still the coach in 2010 then I'm sure he'll evaluate every player available. If Beckham is good enough, he'll make the team. Capello probably learned his lesson the first time when he said that he would never play Beckham again after he he signed with the Galaxy, and then played him. There's no point in saying someone is automatically out of consideration unless there is an obvious problem with them.

I'd really like to see MLS stay away from these "last stop in the soccer career" signings. I think that it makes us look desperate. Even if we are, we should do things to mitigate that appearance. But I suppose that someone in the league took an objective look at this guy and decided that he was worth whatever price tag he will come with. We'll see.

I thought that the Albright move was mainly about freeing up salary space? if that's true then how inexpensive is Franchino? I haven't seen a lot of practical management in the Galaxy lately anyways. I get the feeling that Lalas is managing the team the way I would a fantasy team. I admit than I don't know what I'm doing, it's about time the Galaxy realized the same is true with Lalas.

That's crap. Look up your facts about his PK goals. If you goto the US Soccer page you can see al of his US goals and they are some of the best. Bottom line, he holds the US records and he's only 26 years old. Numbers don't lie and your negative comments suck.
