That dynasty of the 90's was VERY MUCH HOMEGROWN. Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Andy Petit, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera. Those 5 born yankees won 4 WS in 5 years. If you can name one team in the last 20 years that can match that...I will be impressed. The Yankees have the money to RE-SIGN their best players, that is the difference. And if you'll remember, it was the PLAYERS who sued the OWNERS, after it was discovered that owners were colluding among themselves to keep salaries artificially low. Every time the owners mention a salary cap...like their should be, to bring parity back to the game...like their was when the owners were colluding among themselves, the players threaten to go on strike. The Yankees are playing within the rules that the players have imposed on the owners, not the other way around...the Yankees are not the problem, the problem is the players union refusing to accept a salary strike. I think that you will be hardpressed to find a legitimate baseball fan on this site who is not in favor of a salary cap...including us fans from large markets...but, then again, I could be wrong...

Guys, please lay off of me...I've been trying really hard to "win some games"...now I know that I look like a **** because my schematic advantage hasn't amounted to jack squat. And I know that the only decent team I fielded was Tyrone Willingham's and that I have never beaten a team that amounted to anything when all was said and done...but I, yes I, TheFatMan will turn things around here at the Golden Dome. I was given a 10 year contract to turn things around, and I bet by years 8 or 9 we can field a legitimate Big-10 football team...I know that we can do it...I'm TheFatMan for Christsakes....

No way is this the same argument...What Joe Jackson and the other members of the "Black Sox" did in 1919 almost ended the game. The fix was in and the fans knew it and they turned their back on the game...the game was near collapse, yes, America's game, was dying. It took the balls of a commissioner to throw these bums out of baseball forever...to only partly remove the stain of what they did. A couple of years later with the game of baseball still on the brink of collapse, a guy named Babe Ruth came along and rejuvenated America on America's pastime...If players were gambling on the results of the game, fixing games, it would be no different than heading to South Florida to watch Jai Lai...
Sure the players that used PED's cheated, but they were not "fixing" the outcomes of games...just my opinion, I have been wrong before....
