Well...in the case of many sports fans we can always incorporate the famous phrase from Jack Nicholson from a Few Good Men. "You can't handle the truth!" :-)
It's usually prudent to type out your argument in word first and save it. You can copy it but you then have to re-do all the comma's, quotation marks, question marks etc...however, you will still keep a copy of your argument....or you should copy your argument and re-paste it if it doesn't post...I think throwdowns are more friendly using explorer but I could be mistaken. It's been a while since I did one.
Sorry to disagree but Gretzky did a lot of things...but he should not be credited for making hockey popular in the U.S....That honor goes to Bobby Hull.
Right made a comment in his argument about assists...I'd be happy to TD this subject with you Right or someone else...FN me or start a TD and send it to me. So that's all I'll say about it for now here.
And...not to be a wise guy or anything...but it is also a widely known fact that winning the Stanley Cup is the most difficult trophy to get in sports. As an aside, even more so when you consider the number of teams and field of competition Ruth faced in his time vs the number of NHL teams and world class competition during GWG's.
However, it's a mute point in my opinion from the prolific statement of this TD. Both TDer's have made false statements for each player which neither has refuted...Has left never heard of Barry Bonds? Or Right for that matter.
What is important here is what each player did during their era and career regardless of how some here feel about "how" the points etc are measured. Both Babe and GWG competed in the same fashion as everyone else on their respective fields. Who was more prolific...in each respective era? No one will ever come close to what Gretzky achieved or how quickly he did it. Ruth's records...or many of them have already been broken...
Well I'm a hockey fan and I'm not even sure what he is driving at? That Espo was more dominant then Gretz?
Espo played on a much better TEAM that year. 7 of the top 10 scorers were Bruins. Gretz was the only guy on his TEAM that year in the top 10. Open offence...The Bruins scored 399 goals in 70-71 vs The Oilers 417 in 81/82 playing more games.
Espo often played 2 minutes or more and would not come off the ice and Orr used him as a post to rebound pucks off.
Howe did have more career goals combining NHL/WHA totals. 35 more...in over 600 more games played!
I love Hull...But he did not have more goals combined in WHA/NHL... Gretzky played in the WHA for one year too...so you have to include his goals...total, 940 vs Hull 913.
The offenses did change their style in Gretzky's era...because HE changed it. In hockey what GWG accomplished is way beyond what anyone else even came close to...ever! It could have even been more too, except for the (fill in the blank) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ being implemented.
Vote---------------H------------<> Right.

What's your point?
Are both more "prolific" than the two being debated?
