Look, all teams at least since 1989 have been frauds. Period. As a tribe fan, we all cheered the HR. We all cheered as McGuire broke the record in St. Louis. It happened. Now let's look forward.

If you think Victor is passed his prime, then please, please, let's hope that's Theo's thinking too cause we want Victor to stay in Cleveland. He calls a great game (i.e. the past 2 cy young winners in the AL) and one of the best hitting catchers in the game.

So I agree with the BoSox fan... no Buckie. We want far more than that after Lee was shuffled off with an 18 year old as the main piece to that trade.

I am not happy the tribe made the deal. Not happy at all. However, the tribe does not need a 2nd baseman. Plus, the tribe banged around Saunders/Santana... Aybar and Woods would have been at interesting. But then again, these rumors, who is to believe what was really discussed behind doors?

The thing is, the tribe needs pitching. It would've been nice to have gotten a young arm that is MLB tested and successful. Then again, no one is trading a successful young arm these days that is proven in the bigs. Unless you include Saunders, Huff, Sowers and that kind. Which aren't successful... yet. Maybe some day, I doubt it.

They got a couple of big young kids with lots of upside. One throws between 93-96 and the other throws 99. The catcher makes me thing Victor will be gone in 24 hours. No big secret there. And the middle infielder picked up was an extra piece.

And there you go la la boy. As I was saying, the tribe doesn't need another Barfield. And yes! The phils got a steal even though we got some banged up pitching prospects. But it wasn't a 2nd basemen that has had problems. Remember a 2nd basement that hits .300 in a 100 ab translates to a .222 in the AL.

yes. Lee has another year left on his contract. If the tribe were to trade for a very marginal 2nd baseman, which the tribe does not need at this juncture, it would have to be next year when the tribe HAS to make the best possible deal to get him off the books for the next season or suffer only getting two draft picks for his loss.

However, you need to pay attention, the tribe needs pitching and Lee, the reigning Cy Young winner, has not only this year remaining but a very, very, very cheap 8 mil for next year as well. Thus, his value is much higher then a 2nd baseman that has struggled this year.

Listen LA BOY, let me teach you a lesson or two about baseball. You don't trade a Cy Young winner in the superior league to a team for a kid that hasn't made it at the inferior's level. i.e. Barfield. The Tribe can wait til next year to do that kind of fleecing. i.e. C.C. Sabathia. The Angels have nothing to give the Tribe for a deal.

Say no to the Rose! The dude is guilty, he admitted it and it's against the rules. Why oh why do we have to put up with this crap every year around the HOF ceremony? I think it's an ESPN conspiracy in sync with SI to sell ink. You notice the headlines coming out of the weekend were; "hall of fame playerS say Rose should be in."while it was a drunk Hank and Joe Morgan. Also, "Selig softens view" and it couldn't have been anything from the truth.

You Rose people should start a new campaign. "Will Shaq get in the WWF HOF on first ballet?".

All I got to say is if Lee and Martinez goes to Dodger land, you Cali peeps will love them and laugh all the way thru the WS. Plus, you'll have these guys for next year as well at the Cleveland bargain price they are playing for at the moment. 2 proven all stars for a handful of unproven youngsters.

While I'd be very sad to see these guys go, it has become a sad realization in MLB these days. The rich get richer and the middle market gets poorer. Next year the tribe will be starting a bunch of AA and AAA players... or journeymen every where if Wedge is still at the helm.

Casey Blake for Carlos Santana. Let's see, Blake has played well and produced in the NL for the Dodgers helping them keep the best record in the NL while the best guitar player in the galaxy is playing for AA Akron. Yes, Santana is evil good in AA as a hitter, but he hasn't done squat yet for any ML team.

If the Dodgers win it all this year, will you still complain about the blue chip players getting away 5 years from now when the tribe sends him back to you?

What I care about is Rose rolled over an all star catcher in his prime during an exhibition game. A cold, cheap shot at best. Had it been a real game and the guy was prepared, then it wasn't a cheap shot.

If the **** that goes by the name of Charlie Hustle gets in, then MLB needs to go back and start with adding Shoeless Joe. Period. Let's have a special edition for the HOF and add all the banned players to the hall. No rules. Throw out all the rules. Anything goes. We can have a steroid section, a gambling section, wife beater section, etc. By 2050, we can add bin laden.

WHy is Carl Pavano's photo on this thread? And do the Sox really have any prospects worth giving a V Mart, who btw has another year left, away like this? Yes we have our own catching prospects. Why not send those over to BoSox for their prospect. Sort of like we did with the what's his name trade for the what's his name trade we did a few years ago. (Marte, Crisp and a crap load of other useless minor leaguers including Shoppach who I believe the Royals can have now too.)
