Posted Tuesday June 02, 2009, About: Would Barca give up Eto'o for Benzema?
I doubt Eto'o would go to Lyon after they lost la Ligue 1 to Bordeaux, meaning CL qualification stages. Plus I'm not sure Lyon could afford a prime Eto'o. I mean the guy HAS to commend a crazy paycheck right?

Ill believe it once I see Berba wearing the Red Devil jersey...
Posted Thursday August 07, 2008, About: Osorio livid after Barca blowout
So i saw the line-up but were Eto'o and Henry forming a two-top with Hleb playing CAM behind them or was it Eto'o up top and Henry and Hleb on the wings?

Out of the 3, I think Corluka would be the best invesment. Ramos added Modric, Dos Santos, and Bentley, but didnt really bolster its defense besides getting Gomes.

Corluka has been essential in the heart of the DF of Man City and has proven himself in the EPL.

Arshavin would be my 2nd pick. We saw him having great games at the EURO but in the last one, he seemed invisible.

Villa - I just dont think he'd be the right fit in the EPL... But again Torres proved Spanish strikers can make it in the EPL... playing in the system that best suits him.

Id look for another DM and possibly cover for the back 4 to add to the depth.

If he actually said he wants to play for Brazil, Lippi will never call him up.
Posted Tuesday July 29, 2008, About: Ochoa to replace Howard at Everton?
ctsubasa,

I got news for you, dude. Up until now, really the only elite players the states has consistently produced are keepers. Count 'em with me: Keller, Friedel, Howard, Hahnemann.

The rest of the global soccer community knows us for our keepers.

Billy Gun Boats | 07/28/08, 02:53 PM

Exactly my point... it just happens that all 4 GKs you mentioned are from the same generation, and some of them have only just started to really excel (Howard). And playing for Reading doesnt necessarily give you "elite" status...
GKs are currently the more successful coming from the US yes, but "elite"? no

Granted that makes the US loaded with talent at that position but that doesnt mean the US are "known for producing goalies"... that could be in the future though.

Campos might not be top 10 of all-time but neither are the current US GKs...

Ochoa is even younger than Guzan. Give the guy a break. He clearly has potential and like Guzan, a whole nation is counting on him.
Posted Monday July 28, 2008, About: Juve to swap Trezeguet for Eto'o?
I dont understand Barca's obsession with off-loading Eto'o after his rather good pre-season. Id rather see Guardiola get a rival for Valdes...

And go for Benzema instead of Trezeguet.
Posted Monday July 28, 2008, About: Ochoa to replace Howard at Everton?
Jorge Campos was one of the greatest GKs and he hailed from Mexico.

And sure the US have had good GKs for the past decade, but that doesnt mean the US are "known" to produce good GKs.
Italy would be known to produce good GKs.
Posted Monday July 28, 2008, About: Ochoa to replace Howard at Everton?
If Memo is correctly rated at $8 mil and America is willing to let him go for that amount, expect bigger clubs to get in the Ochoa race. The kid obviously has a bright future, and Im not sure if moving to a club like Everton is the best move...
IF he moves this summer, I see him going to la Liga. Valdes could use some competition at Barca, Villareal and Valencia could benefit from having him as well.
Posted Wednesday July 23, 2008, About: Adriano returning to Fiorentina?
Adriano lacks skills to be a force in the Serie A?
Now thats funny because he revelled while at Parma and Inter.
It is then that he earned his nickname of "The Emperor"...

I only see La Viola going for Adriano if Mutu leaves though. And I think he will.
La Viola making a move is likely. I
nter sending Adriano over to a stronger Fiorentina is less likely...
Posted Monday July 21, 2008, About: Milan's shock move for Panucci
I say no.

Milan has enough experience in the back and needs fresher legs instead.
Posted Monday July 21, 2008, About: Aquilani moving to Juventus?
This is just to get Roma to give him a better offer.

Why on earth would Roma let him go, and to another title contender nonetheless?

MLS can afford 5-10mil for Dinho... and LA and NY are pretty good party spots...lol

I say he stays, fights for his spot and goes back to being the world's best...

Posted Monday July 07, 2008, About: Adu linked to Monaco move
Im still not sure this statement by the club's new president is about Adu. This rumour about the 9.5 mil bid on Bradley could just be it. But i guess since Adu is the bigger name...

Anywhoo, regardless of who Monaco gets, theyll need to build around these guys. And yes playing against a team full of intl like Lyon wont hurt. Or even going up against good ol' Thuram at PSG.
Posted Friday June 20, 2008, About: Ronaldo 'dreams' about Madrid
If he does go, I just wonder who Man Utd are going to get in exchange ... plus a ridiculous check of course. Rumoured are Robinho, Ramos, Sneijder...
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Queiroz to take Portugal post
Jeevs - is that a NOOO bc you fear that Queiroz gone Ronaldo will def want out? we all know they have a really close relationship... Fergie without Queiroz is like Rijkaard without Ten Cate (see the past 2 years at Barca...)

Posted Wednesday June 11, 2008, About: Dutch star in Galaxy's future?
I like the bit about the Galaxy having a Dutch coach... Sure they know each other but we all agree that Davids should go to any team BUT Galaxy.
I dont think hes done plus he has a great wealth of experience and some Total Football aspects could be taught to the youngsters.
Something the MLS could certainly use.
Posted Monday June 09, 2008, About: Chelsea targets Ribery transfer
Swap him for Ballack after Ballack left them on a free?? They paid good money for Ribery so theyre not going to swap him for an even older (but in form) Ballack, and a past his prime Sheva when they have Toni and Klose (and Poldi)
