This isn't a column about bashing teams, this is about a poor performing hockey team that has continuously increased ticket sales in a struggling economy. Ticket prices are outrageous, that is a serious reason why people are not showing. When you are paying to drive a mercedes, you don't expect a riding lawn mower.
The nuggets, broncos, and rockies have has minimal increase in tickets and still offer affortable options. This is a major reason why people are not showing up.
Go watch DU in the playoffs for $20 4 rows up, go to a mammoth game with the entire family(4) for $60, a broncos game for 50-$100, or a rocks game for $5, or hey, lets go watch a team with no heart play for $130 that is not even in the first section.
This is probably hard to understand considering Ottawa has so many pro teams and is known for being a sports town? Get out of here.

Head Coach Josh McDaniels and Jay Cutler will meet next week when Cutler returns to Denver from Nashville.
"The Denver Broncos are not trading Jay Cutler. Period," said Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth.
I heard we are trading cutler for brady or peyton, maybe both and let them fight for the starting position... Post it.

On the same day that a former Broncos coach made a big stir by unexpectedly arising as a candidate for offensive coordinator in San Fran, another former Broncos coach is also potentially resurfacing in an unexpected place. On Thursday, we pointed out that there were increasing rumors and reports of the Chiefs possibly hiring former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.
The rumors and reports were knocked down in various circles.
Now, ESPN???s Chris Mortensen reports that the Chiefs are close to a deal with Shanahan.
Wow.
Unless the Soul Man exception indeed applies based on Shanahan???s spray tan, the move would necessarily mean that the Chiefs interviewed at least one minority candidate and possibly other non-minority candidates under one of the tightest lids that ever have been kept on a multi-candidate coaching search.Shanahan was unexpectedly fired by the Broncos in December after 14 years with the team.
If the deal goes through, the Chiefs will be the third AFC team that Shanahan has coached.Assuming he has no desire to run the show in Kansas City, it???s possible that the foundation has been laid for tremendous success.
After all, Shanahan the coach was always having to overachieve due to the screw-ups of Shanahan the G.M.

Cowboys are my prediction, he has roots with Romo and Skeletor, and Dallas runs a similar offense. Wade is in the hotseat, its the NFC, and sadly how much I hate the 'boys, who wouldnt want to be coach of americas most watched team. Despite what people think, we did a lot of friendly scrimages with the Cowboys, and are relatively close to the personel.
Ya, I noticed, but no one else will:) Minnesota is a great hockey state, but as far as marketing a game there, I don't see it happening. We have a lot of wild fans here in colorado, so bring it here with the wild... I think honestly both our teams either need to have some eye candy, like Crosby, or actually win a Cup, like detroit, before we can imagine this happening. Both teams are mediocre at best... What stadium is in Minnesota that isn't covered? Hence outdoor game! I have no idea.
