Actually VinnyMac - Revis led the league in 2011.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/01/12/cornerbacks-a-glance-at-the- 2011-numbers/

THAT is how he got the reputation as the best CB - HE EARNED IT.
In 2009 he shut down the world, facing Andre, Colston, Moss twice, Steve Smith, Wayne, Chad Ocho... and also in 2009, he allowed 1 TD all season - to Mike Sims-Walker of all people (and Steve Smith caught a close one out of bounds, but was ruled incomplete).

Then in 2011, he led the league in CB completion percentage against.

If you watch him week in and week out, you see how good he is. And for a true cover corner, he is very aggressive against the run and a solid tackler. One of the best tackling CBs I have ever seen. Guys like Deion were GREAT cover corners, but never tackled anyone and never played the run. Revis does that and does it well.

The ONE problem with Revis is simple - he is demanding $15 million per year in a year that the salary cap actually receded (someone needs to explain that)

If Revis would take a more reasonable 11 mill per, the Jets would resign him for life.

"In all liklihood, he wont be the same after the ACL." Just like Adrian Peterson.

Does ANYONE pay attention???

Medical science has come a long way. Look at Tommy John surgery. it used to be a death sentence for a pitcher. Now it happens all the time, and guys come back stronger (Strasburg). The ACL surgery is becoming the same thing. Guys return strong. Peterson came off of an ACL and MCL tear, on the position that is hardest on the knee, and he crushed 2000 yds. So there is no reason to worry about Revis's knee. He will be fine.

Teams are shying away from Revis because of the contract demands. If he was asking for 10 million per, 20 teams would be begging to trade for him, including the Giants and Pats.

A - To the first idiot - "he isn't worth more than used shoe-laces" The best player at a position that is the hardest to find? You are an idiot. If Darrell Revis went to the Pats, he is instantly the best CB they have ever had. Ever...

B - Trading him in June RAISES the price, not lowers it, tool bag. If you want picks in THIS draft, you have to take less. If you take picks in the 2014, you get more. After the combine, teams get married to their picks. During the summer, the next draft is a lifetime away.

C - Revis is a diva who wants to get bigger money than Mario Williams got from Buffalo. But he is the best CB of this generation. I wouldn't pay any single player on defense one eighth of my cap. So the jets should shop him. But hold out for a 1st round pick this season and a conditional one next season.

Hey fantasy geeks - get ready for Terrance Ganaway, the soon-to-be feature RB and absolute TD vulture of this all-in ground-and-pound team. Thank me later, when this late round gem is your keeper for years to come.

My bet - Manning is going to Arizona. They are all set for him. Improving defense, decent running game (likely better with the return of Williams), and oh yeah, a play-maker like Larry Fitz in his prime. Warm weather city, easy division, not competing against his bro or Brady twice per year. They grab Peyton, draft a TE prospect early (Dwayne Allen out of Clemson perhaps) and they will be all set to make a run this year.
