As long as this guy remains the GM...the 'Boys will remain mediocre at best. The only reason he won the Super Bowls that he did was because of Jimmy Johnson and you see what he did to him. Switzer rode Johnson's coat tails and couldn't help but win with what he inherited.

So Jerry, keep doing what your doing...the NFC will love you for it.

The guy couldn't make it in Washington and he blames the system instead of his inability to learn it or to stay healthy enough to perform in it...just look at his completion percentage. He stunk it up in Philly at the end as well...supposedly in a system designed for him. Minnesota replaced him with a rookie...that should say something.

While I agree that he may not dominate the way he did a decade ago...I don't believe the intimidation factor is gone. All you have to do is look at last Sunday's results. The young guns coming up today never had to go toe to toe with Woods when he was playing well and I don't mean a 10 years ago. It's only in the last 3 years that any of them has started to make a name and no one has separated themselves from the rest of the field that would make them the odds on favorite to win each tournament they entered the way Woods was. Many of them, with the exception of a few, weren't on the tour yet and never had to face him in the field.

Their rise in the rankings happened while Woods was rehabbing a bad knee, making radical changes to his swing to reduce the pressure on his knee and under the cloud of personal disgrace.

We won't know how they will react if he is capable of sustaining the level of play he showed at Arnie's Place and can stay healthy. If he does, you can bet that the intimidation factor will be there and Jack's record isn't so safe.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think Tiger will become unimportant until he stops being competitive on the course. As long as he starts playing well and winning consistently, stays healthy and puts Jack's majors record in danger...he is relevant and important. He doesn't have to be the public's darling for that to be the case. Just look at Nicklaus...before he started doing the Big 3 with Arnie and Gary...nobody liked him either...granted he didn't have the same baggage Tiger does.

Will people do a 180...only time will tell. At least he's signing autographs now and stopped to give a kid a golf ball during one of his rounds at Bay Hill.

As far as Elin is concerned...now that she's no longer Mrs. Tiger Woods...she's irrelevant other than a side bar in the Tiger saga. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Tiger lover and I don't condone what he did...I' m interested to see how all this plays out.

Wow John! Is this really you or did someone hijack your computer? According to you, Tiger's "intimidation factor is gone", "All facets of his game are completely out of whack", the "whole package is broken" and "He's become unimportant". You constantly belittle the sports writers...most of the time I agree with you...but at least they're consistent.

Oh and I almost forgot..."he's still a horse's rear end to 95 percent" of the people out there...or is that just hyperbole and your I hate Tiger post du jour? Funny how it seemed there was more than 5% cheering for him on Sunday and gave him a standing ovation at the conclusion of his round. I guess they must not read this blog...

Hey Jon...there is hope.

"Belly and long putters have become much more popular in the pro ranks, and Keegan Bradley became the first major winner to use one at last year???s PGA Championship. But golf's governing bodies, the USGA and R&A, said last week that they were taking a "fresh look" on implementing an anti-anchoring rule. That was potentially bad news for the growing number of players who owe much of their success to belly or long putters."

Tiger's even gotten on the bandwagon against them...

I don't agree with you often Jon...but I certainly do here. I saw an interview with Arnie on the Golf Channel and he doesn't like it either...said he was going to bring it up to the rules folks.
