Asking them to shoot lights out again v the Heat and beating the Spurs, Thunder, etc along the way was asking too much...plus the tax hit, if I recall, would have been painful.
He let those guys walk and saved himself dough in the process. The man is a businessman and making money off of an NBA team is also the goal, not just plunking money down to hope to win.
I see this summer as being quite interesting with the Lakers, Clips, Rockets and Mavs all making noise.

Kidd proved to be zippo since then and Chandler was asking for big bucks that he is not worth.

Shane needs to hold Green to under 10pts and under 50% shooting. If he can do that while dropping like 2 of 5 dimes himself and snag about 5-6 boards, that is a solid night from Battier.
Miller was a good move when he was dropping 3's but 0 pts is not good.
Once again, Miller is not the culprit here, it is Chalmers and Cole's defense on Parker and Wade's drifting off his man.
If the Heat lock down on the Spurs defensively, they win Game 6,

LBJ should be DRAPED all over Green when Miller is in and Battier should be covering the guy when he comes in.

If Manu starts again, Miami should counter with Battier on him with Miller off the bench instead.

Miller is not the issue to be clear though...but, Battier will play better defense on Green.
I would tell Shane to drape Green all night long...or, put Lebron on Green and shut him down.
If Miami shuts down Green, the Spurs are not getting enough from everyone else to compensate...the kid is just floating off screens on the 3pt line and usually burning Wade in the process.
Miami needs LBJ/Battier draped on that kid and they got to pray that Chalmers/Cole show up and play half decent D on Parker.
They can not help it when Chalmers and Cole and Battier can not hit the rim to save their lives...
Cole and Chalmers have to play decent, not great, but decent D on Parker or they are watching the 2nd team in 3 seasons celebrate from Texas on their floor.
When this man speaks, which is rare, he motivates players.
When Miami dials up the pressure on D, no one can beat them.
Game 6 goes to Miami by 8pts...thats my bet in Vegas.
The problem in the games Miami has lost has been the combo of Green and Parker.
Slow 1 down and Miami wins. Force turnovers and Miami wins.
Their defense needs to be turned up and Chalmers/Cole need to play better.
Miller was not the culprit for that loss...Chalmers 2 of 10 shooting and watching Parker blow by him constantly was.
A more dangerous move would be Miami playing ZONE.
I would take my chances with the Spurs hoisting 20 something 3's in Game 6 than anything...vs allowing Parker to pick and roll Miami into drives that result in free throws, high percentage hoops at the rim or kick for 3's.
Like I said above, stop the penetration by clogging his drives and they will win.
Zone does that but leaves the outside wide open.
If I am them, I allow Parker to drive, everytime they allow him to kick for the 3 is more painful than him hitting 50% of his drives.
Problem is, he is blowing by Chalmers and Cole.
SA exploits Miami's other weakness : Guard.

Not sure what they are going to change to hurt Parker and slow Green down, but I think Miami will figure it out...
But, Monte, with the right talent and Marinelli assisting him from the Bears, they could really make some noise in Dallas...

In the end, he should go to Houston and if Houston can somehow get him AND CP3...that would be a sick team with Howard, CP3 and Harden...

With Rose coming back, the Pacers getting better and the Knicks trying to get better, the East is tough sledding for a team with tread on the tires like Boston....
KG is a rental at this point.
Doc would be a great coach in LA but that team will be quite different with no CP.
Paul should team up with Howard in Houston if they can pull it off.
