Seriously, that is the one biggest regret. The play by play on Versus is downright abysmal. They must have a book of stupid s#!t to say next to them throughout the broadcast. The adjectives that these clowns throw around, it's like, what the hell did he just say......is that a word? I can't stand these guys. I miss ESPN.

Brian Campbell is coming back to Buffalo a la Doug Weight/Keith Tkachuk.

I agree with the Afinogenov comment. I am tired of Max and thought they should have traded him that summer and kept Dumont instead, so I whole heartedly agree with you there. Management has made some gaffs, no doubt, but my point is that it would have been difficult to keep that group together.

There is still an outside chance that the Sabres might sign Campbell. Campbell said that he intends to test free agency, so San Jose is not a lock. As far as Briere and Drury go, they went elsewhere to be grossly overpaid. Management (Quinn not Regier!!!) goofed by not signing them before free agency, where they could have obtained their services for much cheaper, but I think they knew they would need the cash for Vanek, Roy, Pominville, and Miller. They would have been smart to sign Vanek before he was given the ridiculous offer sheet by Edmonton, but his agent knew what he was doing and did not allow that to happen. Miller will double his salary from 3.0 million to more than six (probably a Lundqvist like 6.5) and Pominville will get a 3.0 million dollar pay raise as well. What everyone here fails to realize is that the new NHL has a cap and the Buffalo Sabres of two years ago was filled with four lines of stars, it would have been nearly impossible to keep that group together. The big regret is that they didn't get the big prize when they had the chance, but then again, look what Ottawa did when everyone had them written off, finally, last year. If they can get big goaltending from Miller IF they make the playoffs, you never know...

Miller is not going anywhere!! If management was dumb enough to let him go HSBC arena would be empty. They are stupid, but not that stupid!

Not a chance. Hell will freeze over before the Sabres lose Miller. The team traded Campbell because they knew they would need money for Miller. Miller will make top dollar and is going no where.
