I used to be a total red sox hater, but they were so damn likable I no longer could hate. I used to like manny a lot, even when I hated on the rest of the team, but he needs to be suspended for what he did. In his defense though, Manny is partly (the whole Nurture vs. Nature) a result of our society, where we worship the rich and famous. The cult of personality.

orignal81 touched on this. do you guys think the PED era is still going on (with HGH and steriods? or just HGH?) it's talked about like it ended definately, but its seemed like all the guys who got busted got busted for buying it, not through testing. i just get the impression we're still in the steroid era. everyone can answer but omaar.

I don't think that the ball needs an asterisk. We as fans know the record was fairly achieved and it's up to us to tell our kids that Bonds and Clemens cheated. As long as we do this every subsequent generation will mentally put an asterisk next to all these guys.

Also, does anyone else feel Bonds' excuse is much less insulting than Clemens'? Clemens excuse just screams "I think all fans are idiots who believe that steroids will turn you into the Incredible Hulk." Where as Bonds' excuse sounds more like, "We all know I did it, good luck proving it."

And that "Omaar! Omaar! Omaar!" at the beginning made me giggle.
