Posted Tuesday October 30, 2012, About: Mike Redmond favorite for Miami Marlins job
Miami should have at least tried for Terry Francona when he was available. Despite all our problems on the field and in the front office South Beach has got to be more appealing than Cleveland! That said, I like Redmond - catchers make good Managers. i.e. Joe Girardi (Yankees), Mike Scioscia (Angels), Jim Leyland (Tigers), Joe Maddon (Rays), Bruce Bochy (Giants), Bob Melvin (A's), Ned Yost (Royals), Fredi Gonz??lez (Braves), Eric Wedge (Mariners), Mike Matheny (Cardinals).

Posted Monday September 24, 2012, About: Derek Jeter: Talk of changing teams is comical
Jeter is batting .322, leads all of MLB in hits, is a first ballot HOF'er and is the face of the Yankees franchise. He's also aware that his star will never shine brighter than in NY and that the Yankees are a perennial playoff contender. He's not going anywhere.

Why aren't "comments" like #14 removed? Just curious.
Posted Monday September 24, 2012, About: No one knows when to expect Hamilton
Someone will pay him what he wants. Yes, he's somewhat unreliable but he still puts up big #'s and would sell seats. Look for Boston to make a play for him to rejuvenate a slumping franchise. Of course, the Yankees are always in the mix despite the fact that NY is probably not a great place for a player with his vices.

Good riddance, Ozzie! He should have been fired after offending south Florida's Cuban community with his moronic pro-Castro quote at the beginning of the season. His oversized ego along with his lack of control and failure to contend for a playoff spot with a young and talented team is reason enough to show him the door. Let's bring in Terry Francona. True, he lost control of a veteran clubhouse with the RedSox but I think he'd be great with a young and underachieving Marlins team. Hey, we can't do much worse.

At Dolphins games this season we'll be running PSA's urging our citizens not to get get high on bath salts and eating the face off of homeless people. It's a relatively small problem but we're hoping to nip it in the bud.

I think he's thinking of Melky - who is in the NL - and suspended for the rest of the season.

I agree that Trout should definitely be considered for MVP but you need to check your stats. Cabrera actually has 8 more HR's than Trout (32 and 24 respectively) and has a slightly higher slugging %, .586 to .585. Those 40 stolen bases may be a tipping point for Trout.
Posted Sunday August 26, 2012, About: Jets to sit Tebow in preseason finale
His quads? I'm curious about how you can look at the picture of how massive Tebow has become - especially his arms and shoulders - and focus on his quadriceps (the muscle group on the front of the thigh) which is somewhat obscured and bolstered by the thigh pad. That's like looking at a picture of Kate Upton and commenting on her elbows.

So, how long have you been working for Field Turf? ;o)
Posted Friday August 24, 2012, About: Marlins ready to go young, take lumps?
Sounds like Ozzie is covering his ass after such a disappointing season. And, yes, I care about the Marlins - I guess that makes me 1 of the 2 fans.
Posted Friday August 24, 2012, About: Demps already on the bubble
Demps didn't just fall off a turnip truck. He was a 4-year starter at football powerhouse Florida, averaging 6.7 yds/carry and 8.4 yds/catch against top-notch SEC defenses. He's obviously a situational back and kick returner and with his blazing speed he could be very dangerous.
Posted Wednesday August 22, 2012, About: Will Indianapolis waive Collie?
Austin Collie needs to watch the segment on former New Orleans Saint Steve Gleason which aired on the latest episode of HBO's Outside the Lines. Gleason is suffering terribly from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) which he (and others) believes was caused by multiple head traumas suffered while playing 8 NFL seasons. Gleason, 35, was diagnosed just 3 years ago yet is basically a parapalegic, will soon lose his ability to speak, and has an expected life span of 2-3 years. He is also a husband and father of a 9 month old son. A very sad story. Collie is also recently married and has a young son. These guys need to learn there is life outside of football.

Uh, fellas, it's "defense" not "defence".
Posted Thursday August 16, 2012, About: Tannehill, at long last, Marino's successor
Chad Johnson just lost his job, endorsements, a TV show, his wife, and possibly his freedom. If SHE head-butted him why isn't he standing in the middle of Biscayne Blvd exhorting at the top of his lungs that HE was the victim? I think the answer is obvious.
Posted Wednesday August 15, 2012, About: Tannehill, at long last, Marino's successor
He's also tied with HOF quarterbacks Boomer Esiason, Jim Kelly and Fran Tarkenton. What's your point?
Posted Wednesday August 15, 2012, About: Tannehill, at long last, Marino's successor
Chad just learned the hard way that in the NFL it's illegal to lead with your head - both on and off the field.
Posted Wednesday August 15, 2012, About: The best rookie season ever?
Disregard my last post. I just noticed the emphasis on MAJOR LEAGUE in your comment. Yaz led both league's in HR's and RBI's but 5 players in the NL hit for a higher average.
Posted Wednesday August 15, 2012, About: The best rookie season ever?
Also, you stated, "like Mickey Mantle last did in 1956". In case you forgot, Yaz was the "last" player to win the Triple Crown back in 1967: BA .326, HR 44, RBI 121.

This coming from a Yankee fan!
