I live in the Northeast and I don't see this as a case of everyone thinking the Northeast is the greatest. The issue is why a player would turn down an opportunity to go to the playoffs. While I think that his reasons are sound, most players long to make the playoffs and it is a story when one blocks a trade to go to a contendor, no matter where they are located. He probably would have blocked a trade to go to the Cubs, Twins, Marlins or Rays.

Waaaa. They should pay for the costs of the stadium, as they will get the benefits. They should pay for future services and legal costs. I agree with Mk that the $400 million could be spent on better things than additional costs on an already overpriced stadium.
