If Spurrier starts regaining his former recruiting form The Gamecocks will become a legitimate SEC force which automatically makes them a National power by conference association as well! Go****!

It was terrible conditions that neither team needed to endure! Those bugs definitely impacted the quality of play on the field and the game should have been stopped!
Posted Monday October 08, 2007, About: Undefeated Patriots talk irks T.O.
"Owens told Dallas reporters. "I think the focus is on New England and Indy, so we're just going to take care of what we need to take care of, and we'll lay low under the radar. And eventually, if we keep winning, then eventually we'll get our respect."

Boston Herald

What is wrong with this statement people! He is right! "Winning" is the only way to garner "respect"! If anyone besides T.O. had said this it would be no big deal! Stop the hate folk's, "can we all just get along"!?! You're all so starved for some T.O. controversy that you'll jump on anything the guy says! By 7:00 PM on Sunday we will know who the best team is regardless of whom you support! The current version of both teams deserve respect! While The Pats have been the dominant team in recent history, that same history shows that any run comes to an end sooner or later!

Best of luck to both teams, but more to the BOYZ!

Conventional wisdom says that when The Cowboys were interviewing coachs to replace Parcells, Garrett was also considered. That being said I look for Garrett to be the heir apparent to Phillips which was probably a foot note to the signing. The number of productive years Phillips has left would probably coincide perfectly with getting Garrett the needed NFL experience to be a head coach!

Thanks Jerzy Man, I agree with your "holier than thou" moniker placed on some of the folk's here! The end result is more important than intent! At the very least some kids will receive some tickets to an event (regardless of the popularity of it) that some would otherwise not have an opportunity to as an incentive for good grades! The other add-a-boy is a positive lecture on life from someone who is speaking from CURRENT experience and not something that happened 10 years ago when these kids could not relate to it! It's not about the messenger people, it's the message! So what if he is putting on a show for the Commish! The end results is all that matters, who are you to judge intent and sincerity! The last time I checked there isn't but one GOD and his position is a little higher than the hypocritical one you currently occupy with that "holier than thou" attitude!
Posted Wednesday October 03, 2007, About: Lineman to commit to Gamecocks
Eagle 1 get the facts straight, do not quote "Fan Nation" it's rumors here remember? The issue was the fact that a recruit had qualified under NCAA standards to go to USC and was offered a scholarship by Spurrier. The school standard was higher than the NCAA's therefore causing Spurrier to reneg on a scholarship offer to that recruit. Spurrrier was angry because the school hired him to build a program, yet turned a way a top prospect (making Spurrier look bad) because he didn't come up to school standards! USC must decide whether they want a top notch football program or Rhodes Scholars! Last time I checked the majority of "blue chip" athletes were barely making minimum standards! If I'm Spurrier I'd be pissed as well at the administration! I'll wager it won't happen again!

Did either of you stop to think that this may be Pacman's way of making strides towards mending his ways. And that he of all people would be best to warn students of the pitfalls that awaits them in life if not so smart decisions are made! Even as extreme as Pacman's case was (is), everyone deserves an opportunity to change their lives! Though I'm sure none of you have made the type of mistakes he has, I'm sure there has been some decsions in your life that if honest about it, you would have changed or are regretful of. I actually applaud the decision to speak to Westlake students by Pacman and the adminstration. I know the auditorium will be packed and students will be very attentive to his message. He is not much beyond their ages and they will surely relate to him!
Posted Tuesday October 02, 2007, About: How the Giants broke the sack record
Hortag, I agree with you on the disparity between the two AFC teams and everyone else! I too am a very big NFC fan. We hate each other in the NFC, yet the fraternity unites against outsiders (AFC). I think of the teams in the NFC this year The Cowboys represents the best opportunity to shake things up a bit! I have a feeling The Cowboys are just hitting their stride and have done so mostly without some key members of the offense (Terry Glenn) and defense (Greg Ellis/Terrence Newman). Once they are back and healthy (don't forget the newly acquired Tank Johnson) it's only going to take us to another level! We have the offensive and defensive capacity to beat the PATS or Colts (we beat the Colts handily last year remember). I think quite a few folk's will be surprised come late evening on Oct. 14th...........that is everyone but The Cowboys!
Posted Tuesday October 02, 2007, About: How the Giants broke the sack record
"theres no way we'd beat any one of the Uber AFC teams we'd face. In fact, there isn't a single NFC team that can touch the top AFC team....yip that includes Dallas and that includes Greenbay....."

Hortag | 10/02/07

Hortag,

You almost got away with that little "bone" you tossed out there, but I'll have to bite! Your theory will be tested soon enough:

N.E. @ Dallas Oct. 14th

and after we "wax" that a.. we have

G.B. @ Dallas Nov. 29th

I love that everyone has already crowned The Pats as champions, that will make this a.. cuttin' that much sweeter!

Stay tuned!

There goes you holier than thou naysayers again! Contrary to popular belief people can change (even T.O.), it's called MATURING! Let me know when you arrive! Based on some of your comments I'm certain you've done some stupid sh.. in your lifetimes! Bashing T.O. is old news that needs to stay that way!

Posted Monday September 24, 2007, About: Was Bears' Benson benched?
vonbearsalot, I agree "cheating" may be a little strong a term for the blown calls against the Boys, but I'm also hard pressed to find a more appropriate word for what was happening. I also agree in part of your assessment of the Cowboys "sloppy game" "penalty-wise"! If I see Flozell Adams jump one more time I'm personally going to Texas to b....-slap him! He a Pro Bowl lineman playing like a rookie! As for Roy Williams and the "horsesh.. rule, I hate it! That tackle should not be compared to a "helmet lead" tackle in terms of enforcement! When you are trying to make a tackle you don't have 5 minutes to decide where and how you are going to bring down a runner! I cannot argue for or against the fumble situation, I did not see a camera angle that in my mind made that play definitive one way or another!

PopKing, let me guess, you're not a Cowboy fan right?
Posted Wednesday September 19, 2007, About: Tank to take Cowboys physical
No risk and very few dollars here! 6-3 300 lbs with experience is hard to find at what Jerry is paying here! The Cowboys have had a storied past with "bad boy" types, but are more equipped to deal with them present day! Besides what has he really done that was so bad! None of what he did had no direct impact on the game of football (and he IS currently suspended for 8 games), but in total contrast Bill Belichek tarnished the image of the NFL and is still on the sidelines not suspended! The moral of the story is, if Belchek deserves a chance then doesn't Tank?

Posted Wednesday September 19, 2007, About: Cowboys won't re-sign two starters
Hoohah, let's not be too hard on Mr. Williams, remember he was never really a great cover safety anyway! He was drafted because of his aggressive hitting style and brought in to blend with a bunch of decent cover safeties and corners. Then Woodson got hurt and things went downhill from there in terms of quality. That forced Williams to become something he wasn't ! Now he has Newman (once backl from injury) and a group of decent coverage guys and mobile LB's to help (not referring to Jacque Reeves of course). He can now become himself in a system that allows him to roam looking for the "big hit" and safety sacks again thanks in part to a coach who actually can coach a 3-4!
Posted Wednesday September 19, 2007, About: RB leaning toward Spurrier
KardiacKid, if you would have asked any Georgia fan if their team was "young, inexperienced, and not very good prior to that whuppin' USC put on them, I'm sure they would not concur with you! It was that spankin' that made them realize all the "accolades" you described for them!

As for USC always being a 2nd tier team because of Tenn, Fla and Ga! I think Spurrier has now beaten all three (Fla 30-22 @SC/Tenn 16-15@Tenn in 2005 and Ga 16-12@ Ga in 2007) since arriving in Columbia!

Any questions?
Stay tuned!
Posted Wednesday September 19, 2007, About: Cowboys won't re-sign two starters
Both are expendable and represent no major loss to The Boyz! One because he is penalty-prone and obviously deaf, the other because he is the 2nd best back on the roster and has minimal to no big play capability!
See ya!!!!!!
