here is the deal with this, they flyers are only doing it to skrew the sabers. As of right now the sabers could sign a nice FA, but if they flyers put out an offer sheet to buffalo for vanek, buffalo has to match that number and there is no way they are going to lose this kid, so basically the flyers are just skrewing the sabers out of more cap money.

Nittymaki is young and it normally takes a few years for a Goalie to find his place in the NHL. Look at all the good net minders in the league right now and see the average age of them and realize how long it took before they found their way, dont count Brodeur hes just a freak in net. Nittymaki will only be 27 this year and still has plenty of good years ahead of him, Im just glad the Flyers are showing that bum Esche the door

If Rowand gets traded it going to be for a starter or prospects. Here is the reason why they are either going to get one or the other. Philly loathes Freddy Garcia, we gave up our best pitching prospect in Gio Gonzales (88 Ks in 69 innings pitched in the minors this year, and hes a lefty) for Garcia, and this guy has done nothing but pooped the bed since he arrived. At the end of the year there is going to be no way that Freddy comes back to Philly so they are going to need another man to fill in the rotation spot plus they are more then likely going to lose Lieber in FA this year as well, so thats 2 spots on the Starting Rotation that they are going to need to fill. I could see them trading Rowand to a team like the Rangers (who the love to deal with) for a guy like Brandon McCarthy. McCarthy struggled a little bit but a new start would **** well, especially in the NL. Plus they are going to move Rowand for another reason as well that being the depth of FA available at the end of the year at that position which includes Jones, Hunter and Ichiro (and isn't Gillick the one that signed Ichiro to the majors). Im not saying that they Phillies are going to get one of those guys but it is something they can use an excuse for trading him and getting little back (prospects that most of the people never heard of because they don't follow MILB)
