In a 3 or 4 run game, sure take him to prevent doubles in the gap or whatever...but in a one run game, when one swing ties it, there really is no point to taking him out, he doesnt kill us defensively, he gets to most balls hit in LF and never drops one and has a very good arm

every sport has their advantages and disadvantages, in baseball, you cant become a UFA until youve been in the league for like 6 years, by then, most guys are already like 27-28 and can sign one big contract. Whereas the NFL rookie contracts are like 4-5 years so people are UFAs by 25-26, bball is 2 yr rookie contracts with team options for yr 3 and 4.

First off, santa claus incident, im tired of explaining this to every fan out there not from philly who doesnt know what happened, we were down like 21 0 at the half and playing miserably, we were like 2-11 that year, and had won 2 straight to lose the OJ simpson sweepstakes....the real santa was stuck in traffic, so they pulled some random drunk santa from the stands....any fans woulda booed and thrown snow balls, not just us...if u dont believe ask ed rendell, the gov. of PA, he was there......booing mike irvin, sure we hated him, but what do people do at a sporting event if a guy is on the stretcher, and he gives thumbs up..they cheer! thats what happened, i was there at that game, i was not cheering the fact he broke his neck...sure philly fans have a rep. for being harsh, but those 2 incidents are very misleading
