Why do people keep saying Brennan should be the starter???? He was placed on injured reserve on September 5th and cannot play in 2009!!!!! No matter how bad the Redskins QB situation is, the NFL isnt going to change the rules so stop asking for him to play when he isnt (and cant be) on the active roster....check here

gatoranimator - that 'easy ACC schedule' has worked out really well for FSU the last few years. Don't confuse better academics with weakness on the football field - FSU is in last place in their division and that isnt all about Bowden

The bottom line is that the product on the field does not match: A) the success that they have had in recruiting and B) the NFL production that several of the players have had after leaving Georgia. To me, that points to coaching - his assistant coaches flat out suck, especially on defense - if Richt doesn't want to call plays on offense, he needs to get a proven offensive coordinator (which Bobo isn't) - I also don't think the offensive line coach has done much since coming to UGA despite a vaunted reputation

Nice comment Bent Tree - Atlanta is the 8th largest metro area in the country - since I dont see Blank moving the team to LA, which 'bigger market' did you have in mind? The 'city' would not be where i would put the stadium either but the suburbs are full of potential ticket buyers who dont want to travel downtown for a game....in terms of tax breaks and land, how do you know that the counties surrounding the Metro Atlanta area wouldnt be willing to do that? Check your facts before suggesting they 'start over'

He needs to bring the stadium out to the northern suburbs and away from downtown - its amazing to me that the owners of the Atlanta teams wonder why they can't sell tickets when they put the stadiums in the worst possible locations

How do you know what Favre has or hasn't done? The whole point of this is that people think they 'know' players based on what they see on TV and on the field. The fact is that you have no idea what any of them do off the field

I think its great that Georgia AD Damon Evans is playing so many good opponents out of conference....would love to see the Dawgs play Michigan if it were ever possible - its a very good thing for college football and the rest of the SEC (minus Tennessee who played UCLA, etc) should give it a try

Should be interesting to see if James Johnson or Jeff Teague from Wake test the waters - I think both will be back because they could make a national championship run with the players they have coming back next year

Jackman - would agree with you but I think you could take a look at Wake Forest - much smaller school than Maryland but can obviously compete with Duke and UNC on a consistent basis (5-1 against Duke in their last 6 at home)

Maryland should have their pick of the DC / Baltimore area yet some of Williams best players (post-Dixon/Baxter, etc) have come from elsewhere - I think a time comes when a change of direction is needed because I dont think Williams is getting it done (and neither is Friedgen for that matter) on the recruiting trail.

Matt Grothe will be a senior at USF (in Tampa) next year and Marve has to sit out anyway....he starts the 2010 as the Bulls starting QB whats the issue here? He is not that good anyway and Florida, LSU, and Tennessee will be looking a couple of levels up from him - he couldnt even win the starting job on a mediocre Miami team

He is looking at another 10 win season at Wake Forest and they will pay him what he wants....its going to take a big time program (think: Penn State or Michigan) for him to be tempted and not some wanna be, paper champion school like Clemson

Saeshawn - I agree with your comments - the Orioles lack of starting pitching has killed them this season - in addition, they don't even have a AAA shortstop in their organization much less one of major league caliber - they are still a couple of pitchers away but 6 games under .500 isnt awful in their division, especially with the pitching that they have run out there each night
