Haha. I've been thinking a lot about Messi's play with Barcelona and Argentina. I think about how many plays involve Iniesta and Xavi that lead to a Messi goal. What if Messi played with Aimar and D'Alessandro during their golden years? Or Riquelme in his prime? But Argentina doens't have that kind of player.

Its similar to Rafa Marquez. With Barcelona, he looks great because he has Puyol. He's not leading the Barca defense, he's just part of it. Whereas with Mexico, he's expected to lead and hold the defense, and we've seen on many occasions (esp against the US) that he can't perform like he has in his Barca career.

Did anyone see the press conference? Maradona straight up told me the media to "bl*w me, and you will keep bl*wing me" Check it out. I think Maradona stays. His teams have played well against European teams in friendlies, but in SA its a different story. But then again, its like that for Brazil. They look better against teams outside of Conmebol.

I think Argentina's deficiencies are beyond coaching. The Gaby Milito injury has hurt the defense, and there's no one feeding Messi. Or, maybe Messi is overrated and can't adapt. He's too reliant on a Iniesta or Xavi to make him look good.

Wilson Palacios and Landon Donovan are easily the best two players Concacaf. Mexicans can praise Giovanni. But the fact is, Wilson Palacios has started and played more for Spurs than Gio.

The game is San Pedro Sula and whatever is going on in Tegucigalpa shouldn't effect what goes on at the stadium. Also, international flights arrive in San Pedro Sula. The political stuff is at the other side of the stadium. And besides, Hond-USA will be the best game in that round regardless of what goes on in the background.
