The glory days of Boras may be over...weak economies will do that.
Plays hard all game, hits for average, plays gold glove defense, '07 rookie of the year, '08 AL MVP, plays 155+ games per year, keeps his mouth shut, doesn't get in trouble.
He's the perfect ballplayer
But Abreu is a perfect fit in Boston, his patience at the plate fits right in with the Red Sox.
If Bay goes, and I think he will, Abreu would be a good pickup. He can still hit and run and the Wall and Pesky pole would afford him a few more home runs.
Problem is, he has already said no to $8 million per year for two years. I cannot see the Red Sox paying him much more than that.
