Yeah Dog what are you thinkin'? But Magette to the Spurs makes more sense than going to the Celts.

WHAT?!?! This guy will never see the field.
Posted Friday May 09, 2008, About: Miller's Sixers future on hold
The Sixers should keep Miller for at least two more years beyond his contract. He is a stablizing force for a young group and that cannot be underestimated.

While Elton Brand would be a nice addition, this injury should make the Sixers proceed cautiously. The Sixers really need an Al Horford type player - young, strong with lots of potential.

If they blow it this time, Stern should seize the franchise from Sterling and move the team to another town. Change the name and logo of the franchise - man, it is weak!

It's time to contract the Knicks.

Posted Friday December 21, 2007, About: Holt goes off on Rams coach
There may not be many vacancies this offseason, but I think Mike Singletary should be hired for one of them. Linehan is a quality coordinator, but he has not proven himself as a head coach.

Listen to those fans on this one: Hire Terry Bowden! It would be great to see him coaching again.

Lohse could still be an option if he comes off his demand. None of the other players are worth signing.
Posted Wednesday December 12, 2007, About: Petrino angers Falcons owner
Some of you forget that Petrino did not sign on for the mess that is the Falcons. It is not Blank's fault - these circumstances were beyond his control. Remember that Vick was the QB when he signed on. I don't think the situation will get better in the offseason because I don't think there is a top-notch QB available in the draft. They don't have much to trade.

The reality is that this was an awkward fit from the start and this season proved that. Petrino is better in college and the Falcons need to build a foundation with someone like Mike Singletary as coach.
Posted Sunday December 09, 2007, About: Can UCLA's new coach compete?
If they are going to get serious about football, they need to hire Steve Mariucci. He has Pac-10 and NFL experience and can match Pete Carroll in the charisma department.
Posted Sunday November 25, 2007, About: Aggies coaching candidates
Of those listed, the only person who would take this job is Mike Sherman. All of the others would not leave their current positions for A&M. With Michigan and Nebraska open, this will be a tough market for schools to grab elite coaches.
Posted Saturday November 24, 2007, About: Coach Franchione to SMU?
Franchione makes sense for SMU because he was popular at TCU, he is a high profile coach, and SMU needs to step up their profile. They really should push to be a national power again.

Posted Thursday November 15, 2007, About: Phillies not biting on Rolen deal
I hope Rolen does not return to the Phillies. He has gotten worse since he left them and he does nothing for team chemistry.
Posted Saturday November 10, 2007, About: Vikings' future QB options
I wish the St. Paul media would realize that the Eagles will require a first round pick plus more. While I understand why the Vikings want McNabb, there are several teams who would want him - the Jets, Falcons, Bears, Ravens, Jaguars, and Chiefs would also be interested. That will keep the price for McNabb up at that level.
Posted Friday November 09, 2007, About: Did Phillies fleece Astros?
This is a great move. Closers are easier to find than quality starters. End of story.
Posted Friday November 02, 2007, About: Judge: Reid home 'drug emporium'
Kari - I have to disagree. Yes, they are adults now. But these guys did not just start this behavior in the last year. They were doing this in high school. And they facts that the parents were not suspicious of this leads me to believe they ignored some very obvious signs and did not confront their boys. And even though they were of the age to have graduated college, they were still living with their parents.

These boys will have to become men now. However, their parents cannot help them avoid the consequences of their actions. In fact, the less the parents are involved, the better.

When you are a household name, you are held to a higher standard whether you like it or not. Parents cannot assume young adults will just start making good decisions one day. A father's involvement in the high school years is critical to kids becoming good decision makers. Some mothers can overcome the absence of the father in this situation, but it requires a person to be proactive and structured.

The area where the Reids live is called the Main Line and this wealthy suburb appears so safe that it gives parents a false sense of security that they assume kids will make positive decisions without requiring parents to be hands-on. Julius Erving lived in the same area and his sons got into similar trouble.

So I agree totally with the judge. The parents have some responsibility in these terrible incidents. Coach Reid was so busy providing for his family that it appears he forgot he needed to raise them as well.
Posted Wednesday October 31, 2007, About: Phillies eye Schilling, Lowell
The Phils have got to pitching and a third baseman. Schilling would be a great pickup. It would be great to have Lowell, but I'm thinking Garrett Atkins would make more sense because he is younger. That would give the Phils a set infield for the next 5 - 10 years. I also think they should make a play for Mariano Rivera, so that Brett Myers can move back to the starting rotation. The Phils could have a rotation of Hamels, Myers, Schilling, Moyer and Kendrick. That's strong.
