The point is that not only does Calipari despise Pearl, but the Memphis fan base does to. Pearl ended their perfect season a few years back, and is constantly castigating Calipari, who, for those who don't know, was like God at the UofM. Even if he had come to Memphis, the fans wouldn't have been terribly happy and Pearl would've had to win big for two or three years to win them over...

I guessing that Jay L. has never seen 'Anchorman'. But on the topic, OJ will have no trouble fighting for playing time, with the youth movement gonig on in Memphis. He, Rudy Gay, and Mike Conley have the potential to be a Kidd, Jefferson, Carter type trio in maybe 2 or 3 years...And as a Grizz fan...I'b be okay with that.

Lute Olsen suggested that they change the rule so that you can jump to the NBA from high school, but if you choose not to, you have to stay two years at the university you attend. I thinks I like that idea.

But why spend even that much on a shooter like that. He only averaged about 8 points per game, and his others categories were limited to say the least. He is not a good defender (only 0.5 steals per game) and you can find someone else with that skill set for cheaper.

This still has to be approved, and I would say that its a sure thing yet. I remember when the Grizzlies moved here to Memphis, they tried to change the name to the Memphis Xpress, mainly because we don't have any bears here. But Stern rejected the name because it wasn't defined enough.
