It's funny, a few years ago, all of the VY people would be out, defending this idiot. Where did they go? Are they still sending hate mail to the Texans because the Texans picked Mario Williams over Vince Young; or are they at home, watching the Limited Edition Vince Young Hooked on Phonics DVD?

I'm trying to think of other third string quarterbacks who might have a better chance of being being the next black quarterback to win the superbowl and to getting into the hall-of-fame. I'm going to say Rex Grossman. I know he's not black but he has already been in a superbowl and has more of a chance of suddenly becoming black than Vince Young does of suddenly becoming an NFL caliber quarterback.

It's that time of the year again? We go through this every year the Astros suck (every year for the past 4 years). Oswalt signed a big new contract with a no-trade clause. That way McLane gets to keep him and Oswalt gets to stay. I really don't think he is going anywhere.
Plus, the Peavy thing in nonsense. Why would Oswalt get mad now instead of when they failed to get Peavy in the offseason? Oswalt isn't dumb; he knows the Astros have nothing valuable enough to acquire Peavy.
You can't blame the Randy Johnson and Beltran trades for the current state of the Astros. The Johnson trade was ten years ago so any prospects have either made it or are now merchandising for Dr. Pepper. I think the Astros gave up Buck and Dotel for Beltran.
What really hurt the Astros was Tim Purpura trying to prove himself as a GM, for which he was totally unqualified. He basically destroyed the farm for Jason Jennings and Aubrey Huff and then tied the Astros hands as far as free agency goes by signing Lee. Of course, Lee and Tejada are the only Astros who actually seem to be enjoying themselves, so that's something.
Also, Hidalgo, Ensberg, and Ausmus had nothing to so with the reason the Astros are in last place this year. Hidalgo was gone in 2004. We never had a better catcher than Ausmus (sad, isn't it?). Ensberg wasn't making any money. I don't understand how you could blame it on them rather than on Purpura.

We once heckled Milton Bradley at a game and he turned and started responding within 5 seconds. No kidding. We weren't being profane or anything and he wasn't getting angry, but it's amazing that he would be so easily distracted.

Nope, it's just true. Braves and Cubs fans outside of their respective markets are largely just bandwagon fans who want to be seen as baseball fans but also want to be different so they latch on to a team that is available to them but is not their hometown team. This also allows them the luxury of not knowing anything about baseball but with the reduced risk of anyone else finding out. I mean, can a non-Cuns fan name any position player besides Ramirez, Lee, Soriano and Soto? When the Cubs come to town, they are overly obnoxious and spout off Cubs power words and phrases like "Cubbies" "This park is nice but it's not like Wrigley," and "I'm going to get another pocketful of sausages, do you want anything?" You can spot them by their aforementioned behavior, the Cubs merchandise from head to toe and them seemingly not paying attention to the game but making generic baseball comments every few minutes (between sausage and beer breaks). I think they reflect poorly on real Cubs fans (someone who has been to a game a Wrigley can tell me that) and if I was a Cubs fan, I would disown them from my fanbase.

I think Pass Rushers are special players that make the game special. To help them continue to be special, there should be a special rule that allows unimpeded access to the passer. I think defense is a special part of the game and I especially like sacks. More sacks=better football, so the rules should be changed to allow more sacks.
