Posted Friday July 13, 2007, About: Firing Mets coach wasn't Willie's idea
willie will get over it. he knows its a business and he knows how things go. nobody ever understands why hitting coaches get fired. but they do, and its just the way it is.

that said, i'm much happier that HoJo is the new coach instead of Henderson.

looks like Milledge will play after all. Buh-Bye Julio Franco.

let Milledge play, let Gomez come back, and see who's available to replace Green in the offseason.
Posted Thursday July 12, 2007, About: Which starter will White Sox deal?
forget Contreras. Garland is the guy. get younger not older.
Posted Wednesday July 11, 2007, About: Mets eye White Sox's Dye?
ruben gotay is hitting 300. so why do the mets need another second baseman? give the kid a chance to play and he'll show up Valentin.
Posted Wednesday July 11, 2007, About: Marlins won't trade Willis to Mets
smart move, trading within your division is a no-no. which sucks for the Mets because they'd love to have him.
Posted Wednesday July 11, 2007, About: Rangers willing to deal plenty
mets should take lofton and put him in left if milledge doesn't work out.
Posted Wednesday July 11, 2007, About: Mets eye White Sox's Dye?
how about giving Lastings Milledge a shot first?

Posted Tuesday July 10, 2007, About: Mets still interested in Sox pitchers
yes, he went to the NL to play with the Diamondbacks. here was his line from that year:

11-15
215 IP
192 SO
4.42 ERA

that year, arizona went 77-85 and still finished second in that division. so yes, his era was high, but his team really sucked. his ERA this year is a run lower and he'll have a pitching coach that actually coaches.

i think its a good move for the mets. they'll probably re-sign victor zambrano.

the mets should go after vasquez. think about his last performance in New York and remember that he went from the Expos to the Yankees. so he went from one of the worst teams in a division that was dominated by the Braves in the NL, to the Yankees. everybody has trouble going NL to AL, and he went from zero to the top of the heap. of course his numbers suffered.

I'll take vasquez any day over contreras. put him in the NL with a pitching coach who actually coaches, and he should excel.

he's not going to be traded. that said, the mets would LOVE to have him.

i've been saying Ichiro to the Mets all season. with Gomez out for the next 2 months, now is the time to make a play for him. throw the farm at Seattle with the stipulation that he has to re-sign with the Mets, or no deal.

mets should pick up Arroyo, cheap.

Portland Lumberjacks?

will their theme song be Monty Python?

contraction is always an option
Posted Monday July 02, 2007, About: Torre goes nose-to-nose with pitcher
why the yankees ever picked him up, i'll never know. he was a bust in both Chicago and Atlanta, and he's a bust in NY. whoever picks him up next is an even bigger fool.
Posted Monday July 02, 2007, About: Lo Duca's days as Met numbered
paul is the fire of the team and loved by the fans. however, i do think they'll want to get younger and Lo Duca isn't a spring chicken. i think they'll offer him 1 year with options and he'll turn it down.
Posted Friday June 29, 2007, About: Met calls out Hispanic teammates
This post is awesome. Let's break it down:

"I am a big believer in that if you live in this country, you speak English...not Spanish. With America being the big "melting pot",the only thing that holds us all together as Americans is the language."

The US has no Official Language. What we refer to as "English" is a bastardization of England's official language. To Brits, Americans sound like they're speaking in Ebonics.

"A friend of mine moved to Texas with his family a year ago.He speaks English but can't get a job because he doesn't speak Spanish.I am sorry, but not being able to speak another countries language shouldn't be a reason to not get a job.

When you go to another country, they don't adapt to your language, you adapt to thiers. The hispanics in this country that refuse to speak English,IMHO,are just to damn lazy and should be sent back to whatever country they came from."

Apparently, grammar and spelling are not your strong points either. It's "country's" for possessive, not the plural "countries". Also, its "theirs" not "thiers".

Most educated people around the world write and speak in more than one language. If you had to talk with the New York press everyday, you'd want to say as little as possible, just like Beltran.

For the record, my favorite player on the team is Endy Chavez, who is on the DL right now. you can't understand 2 words coming out of the guy's mouth when he speaks. He's no HOF-er, but he can play the game.
