Matsui really isn't that good, but he is an upgrade over what we currently have which is sad really.
Burke and Paulino are rumored to be going to Minnesota in a trade for Houston native Joe Nathan, closing pitcher according to Rosenthal of foxsports. Hope that would be enough to get this deal done, would hate to lose Scott too.
Jason Lane 118 AB .225 OBP .347 SLG% and .169 AVG - Starting OF for my Houston Astros since Hunter Pence, our rookie sensation went on the DL. Takes him 3-5 bounces to get the ball in from CF to Home Plate.
Hmm What about our other option...
Orlando Palmeiro 81 AB .337 OBP .284 SLG% .247 AVG.
What about our leadoff hitter who is also a 2b that plays OF...
Chris Burke 208 AB .312 OBP .365 SLG% .231 AVG.
We also have Luke Scott who is as streaky as hitters can get...
Luke Scott 257 AB .345 OBP .494SLG% .249AVG.
These are all of our OF's who were given the starting job at one time or another. The other two outfielders are Hunter Pence and Carlos Lee. I would not mind adding carrot top, at least he would have an advantage over the young pitchers that cant stop laughing at how he looks.
Sorry, but Oswalt stays in Houston.
As for Brad Lidge, with our bullpen the way it is, I have to say he's not going anywhere either. Maybe when Wheeler and Qualls were doing well but not now. Unless some team *cough* braves *cough* for some reason desperately need a closer/bullpen help and deal us their young catching prospect....
