If it hits you in the hands, you might as well catch it.
Posted Thursday October 20, 2011, About: Babcock critical of 'painful' October schedule
It has been a weird start to the year, with some teams playing one or two games and then having six or seven days off. The games in Europe don't help the early season schedule either.

Nah he totally stole the game. Canucks were all over 'em for the first 50 minutes or so.

A bad pinch by Bieksa caused a two on one for the first goal. The second one was a really nice give and go one-timer from about 15 feet. One timer top shelf on the third goal as well. Lundqvist kept 'em in the game and they scored some doozies to put it away.

At this rate I don't see how Luongo lasts the season in Vancouver, massive contract or not. They were all over him last night and there's really not much he could have done on the goals that were scored. Seems like the Canuck fans would much rather have pretty much ANYbody else between the pipes right now.

Had to be.

Yep. They should tell Iggy: We're gonna blow this up... If you want to stay and retire a Flame, you're welcome. Otherwise, give us a list of three teams and we'll start from there.

He's only 34 but he's already played 1100 games, averaging nearly 21 minutes a night. He's been a hell of a player but he's due for a drop-off one of these years, and then the Flames'll have nothing of value to trade.

Yep... Sutter actually did a pretty decent job on that one.
Posted Monday October 17, 2011, About: The Kane experiment that worked ... for now
Well he's really old, and he's still pretty good... And he used to be REALLY good... And we don't know if he's coming back next year... And hell, he's won it so many times the engraver's gotten just awesome at stampin' his name onto that trophy...
Posted Monday October 17, 2011, About: Noel blasts Jets' 'free to fail' attitude
He's pretty much just playing as a rover and seems to have the green light to do pretty much whatever he wants, which is probably part of the reason why they look like such a mess so far...

He creates about as many for the other team as he does his own wandering around down-low in the offensive zone.

While he's right, 'cause they've been absolutely terrible so far, I question him taking it to the media for the second time already this season. Seems like a good way to make the players hate you and get yourself fired by Christmas.
Posted Monday October 17, 2011, About: Arniel punishes Blue Jackets during off day
Yup. I'm guessing he told Nash and the boys to just leave the pucks in the dressing room... Not gonna be needing 'em today. I definitely don't miss practices like that.

Probably just missin' Kaberle.
Posted Thursday October 13, 2011, About: Jagr didn't like being 'the guy'
I love the way he steers rebounds right into the slot and how he flops around on the ice on his stomach in order to cover the least amount of the net possible.
Posted Thursday October 13, 2011, About: Jagr didn't like being 'the guy'
Yeah I watched it too... I think my silly Canuck fan of a roommate is going to kill either himself or Bobby Lou. Jagr looked really good last night though. I have to admit that I scoffed when they first signed him, but if he plays like that all year, it's one hell of a pick-up.
Posted Thursday October 13, 2011, About: Jagr didn't like being 'the guy'
That's really the key...
Posted Thursday October 13, 2011, About: Jagr didn't like being 'the guy'
This really isn't surprising... Based on what I saw last night, the guy can definitely still play, yet he spent the last three years in the KHL.
Posted Wednesday October 12, 2011, About: Bruins lose 'most effective forward'
If Krejci has another year like the last couple he's put together he'll be in line for a raise... I'd wager somewhere between 4.25-5 million per year. I didn't realize they had signed Pevereley for that many years at 3.25. Good thing the only major pieces they need to worry about next off-season are Krejci and Rask. If the Savard contract comes off the books, the B's are actually set up pretty well for the next few years.
Posted Wednesday October 12, 2011, About: Crosby says he's getting closer to return
Saw a quick little blurb with Sid yesterday and even HE seemed pretty tired of answering the same questions that have no answer...
Posted Wednesday October 12, 2011, About: Crosby says he's getting closer to return
Milbury gets so hostile towards anyone who disagrees with him. His first season on HNIC was pretty painful to watch, especially if Al Strachan was involved. Just hostility and awkwardness.

McGuire is still McGuire, though at least he doesn't scream quite as much as he used to...
Posted Wednesday October 12, 2011, About: Crosby says he's getting closer to return
If I were a Pens fan, I'd be worried for sure. Off the top of my head, the only top-tier player I can remember coming back successfully from a major concussion would be Patrice Bergeron...

B's fans probably know the facts better than I do, but I seem to recall that it was two full years before he got back to being the player he was before getting hurt.

Could be a long road back for Crosby...

Totally agree. The videos are exactly the sort of transparency that is needed after the absurdity that was Colin Campbell.

If they're only looking for a spot for the Jets, the easiest thing to do would be to put Nashville in the Southeast and Winnipeg in the Central. I have a feeling they're gonna get up to something more though... Which is almost guaranteed to be horrible 'cause how often do these clowns get anything right?
