Posted Thursday November 05, 2009, About: LeBron won't attend Yankees parade
OK, as expected and as bought the baseball season is over. Congrats to the Yankees. You won, now let's move on in a New York Minute. Which hero(s) will be put on the discard pile this year? Damon, Posada, Petitte, Matsui, even Mo, others? More Abreu types as we get younger? My guess is short contracts now and save your really big bucks for next years' yard sale. Question is how many Yankees retire and how many are discarded?
Posted Wednesday October 28, 2009, About: Agent: Rondo won't sign Celtics deal
The Celtics are already way over the cap and in today's economy what they are offering is fair. They could go up a bit to help him "save face" but they do have him for this year and next. He will be working his tail off to look good for free agency so again the Celtics will benefit. He continues to play well in this system, but he takes a beating every game, so in 5 years....? Also, good guards who can manage games are generally easy to find and that has to be part of the thinking. Finally, it's amazing how easy it is for you big spenders to say pay him more! We're in a recession aren't we?
Posted Wednesday October 21, 2009, About: Manny showers while Dodgers lose
Manny's World, Mannywood, who cares. The Red Sox didn't win without him, but they were a better team! Joe Torre thinks he knows Manny better than anyone...hah!! Millions of Cleveland and Boston fans know that he is not good for baseball. His skills are beginning to fade without drugs and in a few years he'll be gone, thank heavens. Are you awake yet LA?
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Ravens: Brady got preferential treatment
I don't "hate" Big Ben. But he does hold onto the ball a long time. Also, my guess is that these marginal roughing calls are being made early in the season so that all defenses will become very aware that it will be called. Check out the first Patriot game this year, when they were called on two very marginal roughing calls. Hopefully, these calls will not be the excuse for losing teams later in the season.
Posted Tuesday October 06, 2009, About: Ravens: Brady got preferential treatment
I would have thought that all the Brady haters would have gotten the hate out of their systems during the 18 months he couldn't play due to a hit to his knee. It gave the second level teams a chance at the Super Bowl which is all you really wanted anyway. When/if that happens to your guy your opinions will change.
Posted Sunday August 23, 2009, About: Wagner willing to waive no-trade clause for Red Sox
He gives the Sox more options while keeping him from the Junkees. Even if he's used to give relief for the relievers for the rest of the regular season it will be a plus. IF he's close to his best he can sometimes replace the now unsure thing...Papelbon. Next year, what's to lose? Win now and let Junkee arms quit in October!

Odem may only be as good as the team he plays for. He has to stay with the Lakers and be his unpredictable self,as always.

Posted Wednesday July 08, 2009, About: Celtics' next target is...
Sorry you missed the sarcasm intended for the #120 post. He compared the loss of Bynum in '08 to the loss of KG. I was making the point that the average team age between the Celtics and Lakers wasn't that great a difference, and that the Laker fans have to wonder if Celtics at full strength could have beaten the Lakers. Also, with Garnett the Celts could well have finished first in the East and the Magic would have finished off the Cavs in an earlier round. Ahhh injuries.
Posted Tuesday July 07, 2009, About: Celtics' next target is...
Good point... the Celtics without K G is like the Lakers without Bynum!? How many points would Bynum have stopped in that last game? How many years until the HOF calls on Bynum?
Posted Tuesday July 07, 2009, About: Celtics' next target is...
Currently, the average age for the Celtics is 27 and the average age for the Lakers is 26. The Lakers gained Artest and lost Ariza... lets wait for the final tally before saying the Celtics are too old. All the Laker fans are yipping because they're getting nervous....no? In their minds they have to be wondering IF the Lakers could have beaten the Celtics, with KG! Tainted title?!
Posted Thursday June 04, 2009, About: Ryan: Patriots don't intimidate me
Good move by Rex! Get Jets' fans stoked up so they actually believe it, and buy J-E-T-S junk. While he keys on the Pats other .500 teams will keep them where they always will be.....advanced mediocre. The Dolphins will finish higher than the Jets, too.
Posted Tuesday May 26, 2009, About: Dodgers owner miffed at Manny
A month ago a friend from LA said to me "Thank you, thank you, thank you, for giving us Manny!" And I countered with you're welcome to him, he's made for Fantasyland. You'll see sooner or later that he's a two tool player, and we'd much rather have Jason Bay who is a better total player, who appears to respect and love the game. I guess it didn't take long to be "sooner." Enjoy the angst, LA!
Posted Saturday April 18, 2009, About: Yankee OF has fluid on knee
What are Yankee fans griping about? You won the off season didn't you? And those $1000 seats do look comfortable!
Posted Saturday April 04, 2009, About: Hawks: Celtics better without KG
What's with the condescending overreaction with the Baby/Barkley comparison? Now that Davis is getting time to show what he can do, he may remind people of someone they have seen ie. "reminds." Davis had been projected as a first round pick and is one more example ie Rondo, Powe, and maybe Walker, that Ainge sees as top performers even if they are picked later in the draft. Barkley is a deserving Hall of Famer and someone who everyone recognizes. It's OK if a new guy gets a compliment, isn't it?

How about "Con-Joba?"
Posted Sunday March 29, 2009, About: Jeter destined for center field?
Sad to see a star begin to fade, but center field is too key a position to see the face of the franchise fail like he's probably going to do. Face it, the Yanks are getting too old.
Posted Friday March 27, 2009, About: Van Gundy: Celtics using injuries as excuse
If anyone bothers to listen to any Celtic player or coach they never complain about the large number of injuries this year. They specifically emphasize that they are a team and will be happy to have everyone back, but they don't make injuries an excuse. The fans and media keep bringing it up but that's what we/they do. Hyper-actives like V-Gun start and perpetuate this stuff and all the "want-to-believe-its" are happy to feed into it.
Posted Wednesday March 18, 2009, About: Pedro-to-Dodgers rumors persist
Cool, it's now going from "It's all about him (Manny) to it's all about them (Manny and Petey.") Two of the former best taking big money for past performances.
Posted Tuesday March 17, 2009, About: What happened to Joba's fastball?
If it's too big for HIS head it must be be one of the biggest caps ever made. If con-Joba makes it a 5 year career he'll be lucky.
Posted Thursday March 12, 2009, About: Papelbon sounds off on Manny
Pap didn't call a press conference, he answered questions for a magazine. Manny has seldom said anything positive about his teammates and is totally self-absorbed. He has earned criticism! Everyone who talks about his "winning" the World Series never mentions (or saw) how many runs/games he has lost through the years by 1)not running out grounders, 2) not going to third on singles by others 3) failing to dive for catchable fly balls, 4) allowing drives in the gap to result in extra bases, 5) assuming doubles by cruising into second and giving up on possible triples. Manny is not true professional and he hurts the game.
