I've lost a lot of respect for Derrick Rose. He has shown that he has so much less heart than his teammates, who are busting their butts trying to challenge a healthier, deeper, champtionship-winning opponent. Rose has been cleared to play for MONTHS now. And when his teammates needed him most, he refused to help them.
Rose is a punk. I've lost a lot of respect for him. He's been cleared to play for MONTHS, but refuses to work. He's living the high life, collecting millions of free dollars while sitting on his butt.
Sitting on his butt, getting richer and refusing to work while his teammates who actually have HEART are out there fighting hard against a healthier, deeper team. Rose needs to get his butt on the court or just file for retirement now. Play or get lost.
Why isn't he in more commercials? Because the egomaniacal, self-serving "Decision" TV special ruined a lot of goodwill that he had. People respect his talent, but that doesn't meant they like him personally.
I can't tell whether to feel bad for this guy or not, because I can't tell if *he* realizes what's actually going on - that as soon as they're no longer legally required to pay him money, he will never play professional basketball again. That seems like such a waste of talent. It seems like the Rockets *want* to work with him, but he's not really willing to work with them.
I feel that mental health should be treated by teams the same way as they'd deal with physical health issues. But what Royce White doesn't seem to understand is that teams have expectations for certain levels of performance, and not all health issues can be accommodated for the needs of the profession.
To be a professional athlete requires superior health conditioning in all regards. *Most* people don't qualify for that level of competition. It sucks for Royce that he's so close... but no. This just isn't the profession for him. It sucks, but not everyone gets their dream job.
Gay had five seasons to prove his worth. Meanwhile, the Grizz are 11-4 since the trade. Is there any realistic probability that they'd be much better than that with his bloated contract?
With Wade in sharp decline and becoming even more prone to injury, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad move. The Heat belong to LeBron James now. Wade is not the star of the team anymore.
But, I can't see any such trade happening. Regardless of anything else, Wade's name and star-power is too great to be swapped for Al Jefferson. Tactically, it might not be a bad move, but it will never happen.
Wade continues to show signs of his decline. He'll still have flashes of brilliance, but they're going to reduce in number. His reckless style of play has been fun to watch at times, but it has taken a toll on his body.
Lame. I've bought team-logo merchandise in the past, including jerseys. It probably won't make a difference, but I can guarantee that I will never buy any team merchandise that includes an advertisement for a separate product on it.
Flop Griffin is one of the NBA's most overrated players. He's got a LONG way to go before any comparison to the likes of Malone even remotely makes sense.
I feel bad for the dude, but I also understand why teams aren't willing to take the big risk on him right now. Best thing Oden could do is to get on a D-League team. No, it's not as glamorous as the NBA, but it *is* professional basketball. If he gets out there on the floor and shows some improved durability, there's a good chance that an NBA scout is going to notice, and then maybe he'll get that call.
I'm not buying it. The Clippers have a horrible owner, who has repeatedly shot his own team in the feet for many, many years. There's a reason this team has never achieved much during his tenure. It's going to take more than one *ok* season before I believe that the Clippers have a changed culture and that they're the "place to be."
