Daniela Hantuchova
Jarah Mariano

I do not like his methods for addressing issues - on the field (in McNabb's face), via the media (remember his sit-ups?), twitter (Rodney Harrison used WHAT??!?!?!), etc.
And for the clown that says we dislike him because he can afford hamburgers and we cannot...you're an idiot.
Philly had enough of him and suspended him for his antics. Dallas was a zoo to begin with and he kind of fit in...but was labeled the "problem" and quite honestly became the scape goat. In Buffalo...there is NO REASON he doesn't get 10-12 balls thrown to him each game. Giving him that sort of attention should free up the field for Lee Evans and the rest of the crew - THEY WON'T DOUBLE-TEAM HIM IF THEY DON'T THINK YOU'RE THROWING TO HIM.
For once T.O. took the high road.
I'd give the guy $10m if he gets to 200 IP in a season. Odds are he'll have have 28-30+ starts in that instance and will be worth it - HEAVILY incentive laden deal though.
But Alderson and Barnes are gone, bringing in Garko and Sanchez. Those trades just did not seem to bring enough of what SF needed. I mean, what could they have received if they had offered BOTH Alderson AND Barnes to someone in the same trade?
Now Villalona is in prison...and may be for a loooong time. The minor league system took a big hit in 2009.
Capps hits Pujols on the 2nd pitch after a home run. Next inning, a Cards pitcher hits a Pirates player and it's done.
Instead, the umpires decide to KNOW what is going on and eject Capps. Now, LaRussa thinks his guy got hit on purpose, but cannot retaliate due to the ejection and warnings. Next time the Pirates and Cards get together, it may be retaliation time.
Why the heck don't they just LET THEM PLAY. Some Pirate is going to talk to Capps after the game, because his lack of pitching skill (HR to Shumaker), and subsequent frustration with that lack of skill (drilling Pujols), got his teammate drilled in return. At least then it is over.
It should be allowed to play out. It is baseball, whether you like it or not.
If it was intentional in his mind, it should have been repaid in the 9th, not talked about after the game or the next day.
They have traded away MILLIONS of $$$ in payroll - ownership had better make it a priority to sign Miguel Sano, even if it costs $6m.
They also should have the money to sign ALL the highschool arms they drafted in the 4 - 9th round, for basically whatever the kids want to get out of their verbals to D-I schools.
If ownership wants to go cheap on payroll, they had better spend the MILLIONS elsewhere.
He did not go off. He carefully chose his answers to the media's questions. It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out, but they probably threatened to send him to Washington if he kept it up.
DeJuan Blair owned him, playing very physical and thus taking Thabeet out of his game.
He'll learn though, and should be a quality NBA player.
Anything else is just gravy.
I'm not going to disagree with Babcock either! But Syd is an excellent choice for the face of the NHL - he plays well, he speaks well, he says the right things, respects the game, and is on a successful team. That is what the NHL wants; that is what the NHL gets.
But those that follow hockey KNOW that Detroit is DAMN solid at every position and has multiple all-star caliber players at the various positions, and the system they employ is successul every year. It should be a great series, but the Pens will HAVE TO be on top of their game to beat the Wings.
Syd's "facial hair" is pathetic though. Thank GOD his game is better than his facial hair!!!
Also, don't be an idiot and throw Bud Selig into the mix here. There is an agreement with the Union in place that, I'm SURE, doesn't ban the players from partaking in all-star games. That could affect bonuses paid to players, which affects their income, which becomes an issue with them. Don't try to throw Bud under the bus...it is the fans fault if he makes it!
Oh wait, did I just use the "t" word...."team"? He has what we call TEAMMATES that he could help by working with them while suspended. He has what we call TEAMMATES that he will be playing with when he gets back from his suspension.
Regardless if he's getting paid or not, he still has the same BOSS. I wonder if there is an "insubordination" clause in the contract...
This sets the precedent for them hiring Matt Millen - Millen and Phillips BOTH sucked! Put them on TV!
It is interesting that this player, WHO DID NOT PLAY LONG ENOUGH TO GET A PENSION OR MLB INSURANCE (which costs big bucks)...is coming forward.
Are there more out there? Who, and from what teams?
We know there was/is a problem. Just cut the "not my team" BS and deal with it.
That being said, you have to respect what they do and how they do it!
I HATE when writers confuse bionic with geriatric.
Too often these players and their agents sign contracts that they end up not liking...well too bad. I'd make him either play out his contract or forfeit $$$. Perhaps he gets traded out of camp then, but I'd make him play.
He's "classy"? There is nothing classy about what he's pulling right now. Any "class" he may have shown (his "Stomp" celebration sure is "classy") is now gone. He won two rings...that doesn't give him the right to request a trade - he's under contract. What if Timmons blows out a knee in training camp? Foote starts.
Shut up and play out your contract. "Classy"? Right...straight "Detroit Pershing Doughboys" classy.
I'm hatin'.
He did this SAME thing with the Pirates...
What...if this kid makes the major leagues...should they ship him over to Japan rather than let him travel to Philadelphia (those fans will EAT HIM ALIVE)? Non-story...maybe the Boston Globe can a box of pencils for the clown that thought up this article.
