Posted Friday May 11, 2012, About: Gardy compares Twins (unfavorably) to high school team
Your comment shows that you don't know baseball. The Twins' problem is that they have spent money poorly, not that they haven't spent it. The Mauer deal was a tough situation for them because he was coming off a career year and is a hometown hero. However, they have brought in poor free agents, and have forced talented players to play outside their comfort zone to fit into the"Twins Way." This dates back to the David Ortiz-as-an-opposite-field-slap-hitter days. They need to fire Gardenhire and his staff, and clean house on the roster. Suck for 5 years, collect draft picks, and contend again in the future. And trade Mauer for a box of girl scout cookies.
Posted Thursday September 01, 2011, About: Dodger Stadium's worst showing ever
You're not even close. Dodger fans are very passionate, and they are doing exactly what a fan base is supposed to do if things have gotten this bad for your team. The only way an owner gets the message is by keeping your money in your pocket as a fan. Good for Dodger fans!
Posted Friday August 05, 2011, About: No guarantees for Santana in 2012, either
They didn't realize that Mauer and Morneu were both as durable as a 4 year old girl. I guess they did miss the crystal ball on them...
Posted Friday August 05, 2011, About: No guarantees for Santana in 2012, either
The Twins did.
Posted Thursday August 04, 2011, About: Tommy John for Twins' top pitching prospect?
Yup, it only makes sense that the wickedly bad luck the Twins have had with injuries would start to make its way into their minor league system.
Posted Saturday July 30, 2011, About: Pirates eyeing Twins' Kubel
I hate to be a downer, but as a realistic fan, the Twins are significantly different than the 2006 team. That team was already like 18 games over .500 at this point, had two aces on their staff (we're not close to having even one this year), had career years from about everyone, and had an incredible amount of luck go their way. For the team (and fans) to hang their hats on that season is admirable in a "don't quit" kind of way, but it also leads to holding on to players like Cuddyer and Kubel when there is more value in trading them.
Posted Monday June 13, 2011, About: Why Twins might move Cuddyer
No way will they keep him after this year. Mauer has ensured that they can't afford to keep anyone else for the amount Cuddyer will get. He'll either be traded or (most likely) walk after the season. Kubel as well.

You are totally right. This just a sample of what's wrong with this miserable football team. Good for Ponder, though.
Posted Wednesday June 01, 2011, About: Gardy floats moving Mauer from catcher
The Twins are going to suffer for many years because of Mauer's contract, while the Indians take over the Central.
Posted Wednesday June 01, 2011, About: Gardy floats moving Mauer from catcher
Too true. It pains me as a Twins fan to say this, but you are totally right. The Twins were in the absolute worst position last season with Mauer. They had to sign him or it would have been a PR nightmare, but it didn't take a genius to see how this would turn out.
Posted Saturday April 30, 2011, About: Mauer shouldn't have started the season
Um... yeah. Punto being gone is the reason they are bad. Really...

Posted Saturday March 05, 2011, About: Kubel's future with Twins uncertain
Atro - I must say that your Twins knowledge is impressive, especially given your profile picture. It's nice to see a Yankees fan who actually knows about any teams other than the Yankees and Red Sox.

I wholeheartedly agree that Kubel should rarely, if ever, set foot in the outfield. He'd be good for the Twins to hold on to as a DH, especially when Thome is gone, but they need to look at other options in the outfield. Preferably options not named Repko (although he is a great defender).

Who's Chipper Jones?

From a die hard Twins fan: Thank you, Ozzie.
Posted Thursday August 19, 2010, About: Mauer apologizes to fans for taking so long
I think you're right about the pressure thing. I think this apology was more for his sake than for the need to really apologize to the fans. Most fans here (with a few exceptions) will love Mauer regardless of how he's hitting. However, I think he made himself feel guilty, and last night was a cathartic release that will hopefully help him relax. Adding a few more home runs to the way he's been hitting lately would certainly help my Twins!
Posted Wednesday August 18, 2010, About: Guillen hates the Twins
Absolutely, 100% right. The bottom line is that the White Sox are mentally defeated by the Twins even before the first pitch, much like the Twins have already lost to the Yankees before their first pitch. Here's hoping the Twins can continue their hot streak and overcome the Evil Empire in the playoffs this year! GO TWINS!

So, I'm not the biggest fan of living in Minnesota, but how can someone living in Tennessee criticize anyone for where they live?
Posted Friday July 02, 2010, About: Source: M's not ready to trade Lee
What could the Mariners possibly be waiting for? The rest of their team except Ichiro to learn how to play good ball? Trade him now, and make sure it's to the Twins!
