everyone seems to thiink kelly will be superb...i suppose u lose buch in this deal but not both...if u replace buck with roy, thats a good deal and a couple other prospects, hell even pap would be a good chip here...you dont trade the farm for a 32 yr old pitcher....just not smart business

they cant join the big ten without dropping out the big eats fitst...can u play football in one and basketball in another...if they think the big east will let ND walk away from the basketball they are crazy...they'll make ND go to bog east, which is better for all parties anyway...big east is buliding good football, ND would be huge...

beckett is the new schilling...he may not always impress in the regular season, but in the playoffs he pitches like a god. 2 world series titles can be attributed to him. CC wom a Cy young bc his manager has no one else to pitch so he let CC stay in games later than he should have . therefore he had more innings pitched. Boston doesn't care about complete games as much as they care about post season readiness. Beckett is always ready for the post season where CC gets drilled every time...CC os so over rated its scary. i'll take beckett any day, if only for the playoffs.

it is not too early in the season to see how slow his bat is. i watched him strike out against that japanese pitcher on the O's. That guy was throwing 87. Papi was missing it. i really hope this is a struggle not the beginning of the end. If this continues, they should stick drew in the 2 spot, pedey, in the 3 and then put papi 5th before bay....we still get the lefty, right pattern in the lineup, but put an OBP guy in the 2 spot and having a doubles guy int he 3. mopre runs will eb scored.

i'm pretty sure a major league pitcher should not be worried about mechanics with 6 days to go in spring training. safe@home..if these guys were considered gods, they would have offers to me managers. john farrell has had offeres and the guy from tampa bay too. im a redsox fan so i am AL bias. i dont know much about the coaches from the NL.

jgb...clay will be an absolute stud...as far as a catcher is concerned, i am fine with having a weak bat as long as he doesnt have mnay errors. kottaras has a strong arm and calls a good game.
losing clay will be as bad as any trade int he history of the league. once this kid gets it all together, watch out.

love what lester has done. hope this pitch helps him get to the next level. he is already one of the best lefties in the league, maybe this will get him 20 wins. that being said...why is this news? every pitcher works with "new" pitches during the spring. i guess if he throws it 12-15 times a game, this thread will matter.

coco crisp would be the best outfeilder on that team. along with soriano they would have a potent 1-2 punch on the base paths, as well. not to mention crisp is a gold glove type caliber defender. and he switch hits without losing much. i would love for him to stay in beantown, but not at t he expense of jacoby. crisp has done many great things for us. i hope he does get traded, he deserves to be a starter.
