Also, Filthadelphia is no garden of Eden, unless you like high crime rates and dirt.
AT LEAST THOSE OF US WITH BRAINS
And to Tiger Woods regarding his comment about the Stanley Cup Finals, "lots of people care about and watch hockey" get over yourself.
Detroit - 16
Pittsburgh - 26
Wings didn't get the calls????? Legitimate reason to say something about the officiating. I am not a fan of blaming the officiating for losing a game but it is a coaches job to protect his players and bring notice of what he feels is inconsistent. The End on that.
In my opinion the officiating should just be across the board call it on each side and let the players decide the outcome of the game. We all know that players consistently break the rules (Gill taking down Holmstrom or Kronvall leaving the ice on hits - and it is documented on film so don't deny it) but in the end the talent of players like Crosby and Zetterberg should and will decide the outgome of each game.
And for all those people out there who think Crosby has no talent, you absolutely know you are WRONG. Not liking a player is one thing but denying is talent is just plain stupid.
Philly is losing because they can't get the puck through the neutral zone without turning it over and then the offensively talented Pens make them pay for it. Hossa is an extremely strong two way player even if no one notices. Scuderi came back from his injury a changed player and stepped his game up to the next level. Therrien knows how to get this team to play defensively even though they have some of the best offensive talent in the league.
The Flyers have lost key players but that's just what happens and the rest of the team needs to step it up. Good teams are solid down the lines and obviously Philly isn't that strong.
There's a ton of reasons the Pens are winning, luck is just one small part of it.
GO PENS!
Right now the Pens are looking like the better team. Philly needs to step it up if they plan on winning any games. It's that simple. Officiating is what it is and it's senseless to argue about it since there is absolutely nothing any of us can do about it. The Pens have had a long and great history and no matter the trash talk that won't change. I've been a season ticket holder for many years including the bad ones and have been fortunate to see some great players play at the Arena including those from other teams. I appreciate the skill and talent it takes to simply make it in the NHL, on any team. And this season's playoffs have been alot of fun and the finals will be great no matter who makes it there (which by the way will be Pittsburgh and Detroit - GO PENS!)
Some people will always knock Sid, they just have no idea how great he is especially when you get to watch him in person for an entire season. You come to realize he is head and shoulders above 99% of the players in the league. And I have seen some truly great players including the Magnificent One and Jagr.
GO PENS!!
Was Jagr great when he was in Pittsburgh, absolutely. Did I love going to all those games and watching him score night after night, ABSOLUTELY. Should he come back, absolutely NOT. The Pens have a good team mix and very good team chemisty and we all know what Jagr can do to that.
The days of Lemieux and Jagr are over. Make way for Crosby and Malkin.
Just admit that he has amazing skill and is a GREAT hockey player and anyone out there would be dying to have him on their team. He makes everyone around him play better. Also, if you notice unlike many other star players he never trash talks other players, he downplays his on abilities and always credits his team. He's a great player who also is humble and the perfect face for the NHL. So everyone else just GET OVER IT. Let's actually talk about hockey (the greatest sport in the world) and how great these playoffs have been and how the race for the Cup is the most exciting thing to watch right now.
In the end, you'll see Sids' name right next to Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretsky and Mario Lemieux as one of the greatest players ever.
