Probably so, but it was neat to see him hit a home run in the opening game...

Guess I'm just kinda naive, but I don't understand why some folks think that race is a factor in this dog-fighting deal. I would be equally as appalled if a white NFL player did this. The deed speaks for itself, no matter the color of the skin.

One last comment from me about Michael Vick. I mentioned in an earlier post that I didn't think he was quite accurate enough to be an elite NFL quarterback, but one thing a lot of people didn't see, and for some reason wasn't brought up very much, is that the Falcon's wide receivers dropped a lot of catchable passes, I saw it week in and week out. His only dependable weapon was the tight end, Alge Crumpler. And their best possession receiver, Brian Finneran, was injured for over two years so he wasn't available.

Good observation. I would agree with that.

I'm given to understand that eating horse is fairly common in Europe, but, obviously, not very much over here. I guess it's just a cultural thing. McWhinney burger, anyone?

I've seen the posts that suggest he would be better as a combination player, i.e. Quarterback/Running Back/Receiver, and I think that would be his best chance for success. I've been a Falcon fan ever since we got the franchise in 1966, and I make an effort to see every Atlanta game, so I've followed Michael Vick since his rookie year. While I think he is a better passer than he's given credit for, I don't think he has quite the accuracy that you need to be an elite NFL quarterback.
And as far as the whole "should be be allowed to play in the NFL again" thing, I honestly have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I was horrified, as were so many others, about the animal abuse. On the other hand, how long should someone be punished for a crime when they've served their sentence?

Hah! Good thing I scrolled down a couple more comments, I was just about to post the same thing. I still laugh at "MeAngelo" Hall showing his hiney in Atlanta and saying that he wanted to play for a winner and then got traded to Oakland...gee, who made the playoffs? Oakland? No. Washington? No. Atlanta? YES!
