If Huet stayed where he was he would have had a shot this year! Why you would give Huet up to go with Price is a mystery to me. Especially after watching the Habs/Flyers. He was not good. Probably cost them the series.

It feels like it when you watch the games. Ever listened to the national Broadcasters talk about Philly. (Not just Flyers) I swear that when the Flyers would score they would subliminaly flash a picture of Satan for a split second. No lie! The "high-stick goal" the excessive penalties. It wears on a fan. Most of the penalty problems stem from history. Yeah, they had all the suspensions at the beginning of the year. Boulerice isn't even with the team. Downie has cleaned up his act. History has caught up with them. It's all good though. Even Pro-Wrestling has to have villains!

Hopefully Sid's ice-dancing won't draw too many penalties and the Flyers can play smart. Otherwise it could get bad...

Sorry, missed the "JoePa" reference...

The teams actually match up pretty well if *everybody* brings their A-Game. The winner should be able to beat the West (i.e. RedWings) since we play real hockey out here.

mcelt, you almost got the point... It's just sport. There's no "chips" no "wahh". Regardless of the outcome...

We're just enjoying a playoff free-ride. Nobody had us making it let alone achieving any success. We have every reason to be hopeful with our young club.

Some of us are sneaking out. So keep an eye-out. And if you're going to take the high-road don't use "doosh" it's a fox-pa.

They don't need to play the series now, BurghGuy. This just in....

Due to the clear arguments presented in this forum the league has decided to cancel the series and declare the Pens the winner.

That's why they play the games. And have favorites and underdogs and upsets. You can gurantee nothing. I hope your team is as overconfident as you are.

I'm not trying to explode any myths. Wouldn't change your thinking in any case. The nice thing about Flyers fan (and there are many..) is that we don't care what you think. We bandy with you as a cat would a mouse for sport.

Besides... The Internet would go silent were it nor for the rabid sports rant. Whatever your flavor...

Flyers Fan = Ignorant unkemp pig
Penguins Fan = Refined educated socialites (i.e. Wusses)

They tank to not face us in round #1. Beat a terrible Sens team as a favorite. Beat a mediocre Rangers team as a favorite. Truly a hearty effort. How many 20 goal scorers did the Pens have? You can use all of your webbed fingers to calculate..

The Flyers (I mean scrubs) beat the Caps with the league's leading point-getter as an underdog. The Caps had won 11 of 12 before facing the Flyers. The Flyers beat the #1 seed Habs as an underdog in 5 with 2 road wins. One of the road wins was the final, elimination, game.

I guess our dumb "goons" are just too stupid to know they're supposed to lose.

I just want a series where neither team has to complain about the officiating. Let the play on the ice decide it. It will be tough enough.

Anyway I always thought that A.O. looked more like the Geico caveman. Biron and Briere look like they left school early to play.

Just damn glad the Flyers didn't get him. I bet there's a serious groove in the bench under his butt... with a lot of bandages around it.

As I recall this is a TEAM SPORT. Not Golf. A single player does not a successfull team make. Many things have changed in the game that make these comparisons, well, stupid.

You know electricity is much better now than it was back then. I think circles are rounder too!
