last game of the season. Jersey vs. Toronto. Both teams are tied at the bottom of division. Loser moves up in the draft (gets twice as many balls for lottery picks). Jersey has already traded away their pick. Result? Raptors blow them out by 30 - Jamal Magliore grabs the mic and makes a passionate speech to the fans about the season - portland gets the 6th pick and grabs Lillard, the very guy the team was aiming to grab. Welcome to the examples of irrelevance I've continued to witness.
This is the whole point .. "if you the guts to do it .. then" -- then you'll be an owner and have a right to a piece of the pie because of the risk of your investment, as is the case now. The players want to start the league, so they can be then act to the future players, as the current owners are acting to them. Shallow pricks
Rogers, the Canadian telecom glutton that bought the jays a few years ago, has a red brand and corporate colour. Their main competition is Bell Canada, whose corporate colours are blue. This is what it is about. Rogers, changed the name from 'skydome', and wanted to make all the seats red in the dome from blue. They're caps used to say "blue jays", now they just "jays". Rogers would change their name to the "Red Jays" if they could.
I like the signing. Sure there's risk, but the leafs showed last year you can only get so far with hard work .. you need talent.. and the leafs are sorely in need of offensive talent. After they traded Kabby away last year, and the team started to believe in Reimer they started winning games. Hopefully (fingers crossed) that continues. We'll see, I'm thinking they'll be on the playoff bubble this year.
Toronto has deep pockets and a crazy healthy economy, but its true, no one cares about NFL football up here. Mostly background noise. And there's no way the city or the province, which is in the middle of paying 6 billion for new subway routes is going to fork out cash for a new stadium.
Brad Richards is aged 30+ and makes no sense for what the leafs are trying to do. I'd be surprised/exasperated if they got him. I like Kessel, but I would have preferred the two draft picks .. we are in rebuild mode and regardless of what burke says .. there are no shortcuts
This isn't new to the T&R .. the new york media and interns just trying to push their agenda. Just like all the Knick dreams you have put up with on this thing
