Demetrius Williams is a good WR who came out of Oregon. He was a mid round pick a few years ago. He was a really good target for Kellen Clemens at Oregon and had a couple of slow years so far.

Hurry up Lovie, Hurry up Jerry, sign Alexander while you still can. Drop Benson and sign Alexander. What is the problem here, why do they not see that?
smudgers | 05/07/08, 08:36 AM

Great point! Even if they don't dump Benson, Alexander would be a good fit and could give Matt Forte a bit more time to develop and learn the offense.
Posted Tuesday May 06, 2008, About: Casings linked to Harrison's gun
This is clearly a set-up attempt by either Roger Clemens or his attorney to re-direct media attention away from him...

I bet there is someone out there who has been "wearing" Roger Clemens for longer...
Posted Monday May 05, 2008, About: Rookie Henne hits mental wall
"After three solid practices, the former Michigan quarterback was overthrowing most of his receivers. It was partly due to having to learn 150 pages of the playbook in four days and then trying to assimilate it on the field with rookie receivers he has never thrown to before."

The playbook has everything to do with overthrowing recievers! When his completion percentage dips below 50% he can just blame it on the playbook...
Posted Monday May 05, 2008, About: Dolphins search for slot receiver
Bess is a great receiver. I watched several Hawai'i games in the last two years. He will make a good slot reciever.

Is Miami going to input more short out routes to thier playbook? They better, or why look for a slot receiver?
Posted Monday May 05, 2008, About: Benson on thin ice with Bears
Forte is a strong RB that played at a smaller school......If they shore up the OL, they might be able to bounce back
djroxalot: Looking 4ward to NY | 05/05/08, 11:16 AM

Forte went to LSU...The defending national champions...sounds small to me!
Chicago drafted a OT, who should start, in the first round.

Lines for Benson:
Year Team G rush yds avg lg td rec avg td
2007 CHI 11 196 674 3.4 43 4 17 7.2 0
2006 CHI 15 157 647 4.1 30 6 8 6.8 0
2005 CHI 9 67 272 4.1 36 0 1 3.0 0

Granted he was in the backfield with Thomas Jones, but this is hardly what you would like to see for the 4th overall pick in the 2005 draft!

"Davis overslept and was not involved in any legal trouble, said Zack Bolno, Washington's executive director of communications."

I linke the part about not being involved in any legal trouble...this may become the staple for all NFL related headlines from now on!
Posted Friday May 02, 2008, About: Big Ben: I didn't influence draft
Big Ben doesn't run the draft. Geez. When does any star player hold that much power over his team that he decides who gets drafted or who plays on his team? Anybody who believes this hogwash is a serious loony.

All Ben is doing is being diplomatic and trying not to (this time) step on other teammates' toes knowing that the draft probably doesn't thrill anybody on any team. A new RB probably makes Parker mad. A new WR probably makes Ward mad.

The Steelers did draft a new QB after all. Ben knows how he got his job as starter when Maddox and Batch went down and if he and Batch go down this next season...well Dixon could step up and cause a controversy.
madhatter | 05/01/08, 02:29 PM

I agree on Dixon...

Saying that he wanted a tall WR is not knocking his teamates. It saya "I want a tall reciever." Who doesn't want one?
Posted Friday May 02, 2008, About: What if Tito wins?
I hope Tito loses too. He is a waste of time. He should have lost his last fight with Evans. Evans got screwed by the judges. Tito didn't do anything to win that fight.
Posted Friday May 02, 2008, About: Franklin considers weight change
Moving up would be stupid! That weight class is even more competitive. He can't beat Silva, so he is basically giving up. If he were to move down, which would be even harder, he would still get whupped by GSP, Serra and the others in that class.
Posted Wednesday April 30, 2008, About: Smoltz back in closer role?
Smotz back in the closer role is a good thing. We do need starting rotation help. That is an understatement. I will never bank any hopes of Hampton coming back.
Posted Monday April 28, 2008, About: Browns pushing Winslow out?
Winslow is the poster boy for guys who screw around and jeopardize their carees by riding motorcycles, etc. With the injuries that he had in the past, it will be had for ANYONE to sign him, especially with any sort of bonus and/or guaranteed money.

He is a very talented guy and based on his stats last year, will be a productive TE for anyone if he keeps his career on his mind.
Posted Thursday April 24, 2008, About: Packers may sign Culpepper
To be fair to Culpepper, his past two teams had little to no talent around him. With the Packers he has some pretty good young guys to handle the bulk of the offense. He could survive and win like Garrard at JAX just my managing the game with the good talent around him...of course that is if Rodgers gets hurt.........
Posted Thursday April 24, 2008, About: Inside Walsh-NFL agreement
I think most teams have said that they have done some form of taping...was it all legit? We will never know. Fining the Patriots draft picks and money will not stop them. Ban them from having any sort of video equipment at every game and they still go at worst 10-6 and make the playoffs because of the Division they are in. They have enough talented players to win a playoff game or two, and cheater or not, Belichick is still a pretty good coach.
Posted Thursday April 24, 2008, About: Upstart league to 'complement' NFL
I think this is a great idea. I like the idea of more football. I always seem to have a "sports lull" at the end of football season (NFL and NCAA). I can't get into the NBA or NHL until their playoff time and MLB hits at the same time.

...However the best way for this to work is it was directly linked to the NFL. The NBA has the D-League which seems to do well and it is (to my knowledge) linked to the respective team's city. Teams that have practice squads and deeper positions could benefit from this. On the flip side, I could see where owners would be skeptical of investing in more players who play more minutes and risk injury.

Welcom UNFL!
Posted Wednesday April 23, 2008, About: Dolphins leaning toward Henne?
Sportscenter Jr...coherent sentences with some correct grammar may be in order for your next post. It appears that the Dolphins are going Long...not Gholston.

I like your picks, Wyoming, but I doubt that Cason will be available in the 3rd round. Mid 2nd is where he is slated. 3rd round would be a steal if he is still there.
Posted Monday April 21, 2008, About: Seahawks look to trade down
I don't think that the Rams need Alexander...Jackson will be better this year. I see a better fit with swapping Alexander for the Raiders first rounder.
Posted Monday April 21, 2008, About: Dolphins leaning toward Henne?
Henne looked good against florida when he was healthy...

He is the best QB in the draft by far. Guy has been playing is rose bowls since 19 and almost beat vince young. He will be lights out.

Cheesedaddy- Vernon Gholston had one sack against long, not necessarily, the dominating performance you mention. Second Dennis dixon cannot throw the ball. he is what they call an "athletic quarterback" which usually entails not being able to move the ball by air.
PebbleBeachNative | 04/20/08, 11:45 AM

Henne will be a waste of a pick if he is taken anywhere before the 3rd round...ALMOST beating Vince Young proves nothing! Dixon beat the crap out of Michigan and Henne! Dixon can't throw?!?! He was drafted in the 5th round by the Braves as an outfielder last year...oh and he hadn't played baseball since high school! www.dennisdixon10.com Look at the videos...the Man can play. He will be a steal in this draft.
Posted Monday April 21, 2008, About: Not if but when Falcons draft QB
Atlanta need line help...either Offense or Defense. Ryan is overrated. Brohm and Flacco are good. Ryan is mid-first round talent at best. Brohm and Flacco will be good picks in the 2nd round. I agree that Dennis Dixon will be a steal for any team that decides to draft him. I am biased as an Oregon fan, but watching him every game last year has me convinced that he will be a star for someone
