Pretty sure he played with a broken left wrist in the '99 Cup Finals. Not bad for a player who's "always been too soft". Love your next justification, too - you've watched and coached and played? Good for you. At that level? No, probably not? With a broken wrist? Never? Oh, geez you're even softer!

I guess he signed with the "lowly" Stars. Good. Richards needed another option to play with. If this kid is any good, the Stars will have scoring coming from all lines next year.

OtherOne81 - the Stars only considered trading Turco in a rumor-monger journalist's fantasy. He has a no trade clause and wasn't going anywhere.

Armstrong did lay the groundwork for this team, but JackHull have made some significant changes. One they didn't have any effect on was how the team, with no personnel changes, completely turned it around after Armstrong was fired. It was like a collective weight lifted off the team.

Changes they did make, though - ditch the Fedoruk experiment and let young talent try to earn a roster spot. Armstrong, on the other hand, brought in old hack after old hack rather than giving any of our developing forwards a chance. Some of the young guys weren't NHL caliber, but at least JackHull bothered to find that out.

I also don't see the Richards trade happening without Brett Hull involved. Hull was the nagging voice that made Jackson, Hicks, and the rest of the organization listen and realize we needed more offense. If that trade happened under Armstrong, we would've given up Niskanen, Fistric, and/or Grossman (and then where would we be with Zubov and Boucher out) and/or a first round draft pick for another bust like Nagy or Norstrum.

Jackson has the experience in the front office, but he came from a defense-minded time with Armstrong. Hull has a player's experience, is outspoken and has a lot of energy, and is offense-minded. Hull and Jackson balance each other well because of that. How well they'll continue to work out remains to be seen, but the little things (and the one big thing) they've done so far look good.
