super agent drew rosenhaus had an interesting point on; all be it is from an agent's perspective

when 1st round rookies sign these outrageous contracts, it actually helps the veterans.

when a guy like matt ryan gets over 30 million guaranteed, it adds bargaining power to the veterans when they renegotiate their contracts.
the vets take the attitude of "if you give this rookie this amount of money, you better bring your wallet when it comes time to resign me or i'm outta here!"

also, even if the money is taken away from the rookies, it's no guarantee the owners will give it to the veterans. they run their franchises just like any other business owner; you can dole out the cash anyone you want--whether it goes to player salaries or to the strip club.

you guys just quit hatin and go out and make your own millions...

I knew it; i've said all along we should have drafted Rashard Mendenhall over Felix Jones. We drafted Felix and now MB3 has all the leverage.

But that's good for Jerry Jones; don't assume anything in football--running backs have a short life span so Barber is looking out for number uno.

I hope MB3 holds out for 50 MILLION and teach them a lesson.

if we wouldn't have traded Fasano to miami for a 4th round pick, we could have used our second draft choice to possibly get Sweed from Texas; definitely would have been cheaper than signing big mouth Ocho Cinco.

instead, we trade fasano to miami only to turn around and use our second round pick to draft an unproven tight end who will be used for nothing more than to block since we already have jason whitten; #$%$%%^^& %&%#&U%%^&#^&##^&#$^&#$^$#&&^$#&$&$$^

it seems like i'm in the minority on this so i won't go back and forth on it. in 4 months, when mendenhall overtakes willie parker as the starting rb for pittsburgh, we can recap who the cowboys should have taken. apparently, sports illustrated is allowing fair weather football fans blog; not true die hards.

Rashard Mendenhall=Priest Holmes; a home run hitter with power.

If you poll any of the other GM's in the NFL, most would have graded Mendenhall over Felix; bottom line==this is Jerry Jones pick and he needs to get out of the cowboys' player personnel; go sell some football jerseys and go build your "neverland ranch" football stadium and leave the x's and o's to the football guys. he ran off Jimmy Johnson after jimmy built the team into a dynasty in the 90's and he ran off bill parcells.

the last I checked--mendenhall had a faster time in the 40 than felix; did anyone watch the usc/illinois rose bowl game last year? both players are good/potential great players, but you don't draft to compliment; you draft the best player available.

while we were squandering picks on complimentary picks, we should have gone out and drafted a safety to challenge for roy william's job.
