Seems like ppl are starting to dislike MJ for his HoF speech, if you liked it or didn't is irrelevant, the man was a GREAT player...these type of arguements get old anyway b/c its all opinion...I respect yours (don't get me wrong) I just don't agree

I have a question for those saying "he's just looking out for himself" and things of that ilk. Here's my question...WHO THE HELL IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK AFTER IF HE DOESN'T LOOK AFTER HIMSELF? (all caps for emphasis) Seriously, think bout it if other jobs were willing to pay top dollar for your services wouldn't you at least entertain the idea? People on here sure pick and choose their gripes (unrealistically I might add)...smfh

I see/saw your point, I just think that isn't as strong argument as some people (not necessarily you) are making it out to be...I think someone of his stature is going to look at the bigger picture...is it better to go to a large market, and not win (I don't think NYK are going to be contenders anytime soon) or be the hometown kid who brings a downtrodden but proud city it's 1st championship (more likely than NYK winning)...from a marketing and common sense standpoint that makes more sense to me. I could be wrong tho...

That "market" arguement is played out...marketing is global...it's also viral...advertising doesn't need to be confined to a region (especially with net still blossoming) why does LBJ need the market? will nike not advertise outside of NYC? do cavs jerseys not sell? Sure NYC and LA are the biggest "markets" but in the grand scheme of things what will do for someone who is a GLOBAL ICON? Maybe I'm missing something, it's certainly possible.

Wasn't gonna comment but I want to chime in/ask a question regarding LBJ not being a leader...he's the main ball handler, main scoring option, main assist man, main defender and main rebounder (i think)...all out of necessity...what more does he need to prove to people out here in cyberspace that don't believe in him? Just curious...he has had no pippen, no worthy, jabbar, scott, rambus, no DJ, parrish, mchale, etc. I think it's been proven in the league time and time again that every Batman needs a Robin and he hasn't had one yet

I'm not going to knock him for trying to get the money...people are acting like they wouldn't do the same thing if they were in his position. If you're offered a job, and it's X amount of dollars you have the option to accept or reject that offer. If you reject that because you think you're worth more or just because you think they'll give you more, that doesn't necessarily mean you're greedy or a POS or any of that...in my opinion anyway. AND YES THERE ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE A ROOKIE CAP!
