Posted Monday March 09, 2009, About: Ravens GM: We're not done dealing
Why would the Ravens want Torry Holt. Derrick Mason and Holt are basically the same exact type of receiver. What the Ravens need is big receiver who's great on third downs and in the middle of the field, who can also be dependable in the red zone....get where I'm goin here...Anquan Boldin

What about Will Smith's son? He's Nick's best friend, so are we talkin package deal here?

I hope Montana goes to USC. Would love to see the Jack Elway-Nick Montana battles between ASU and USC. Classic stuff.

Joe Arpaio is a wild man. He's a zero tolerance harda$$. He's like a mix between Hunter S. Thompson, Clint Eastwood, and George W. Bush. Anyway, if Shaq couldnt get along with Kobe, there was no chance of a long standing Joe-Shaq relationship.

GO TO OREGON OR MISSOURI!!!!!!!!! I'm so tired of guys either going to the SEC, Ohio State, or USC...it's getting really old.

Gues this means it's time to bring Rod Smart and Freddie Mitchell back.
Posted Wednesday February 18, 2009, About: Blazers talking to Knicks about...
the Blazers would have to put Lee at SF and I don't think that is Lee's natural position. Plus, Lee is a bit of a hot head and that's not going to mesh well with the Blazers current squad. Would be a horrible deal for the Blazers even if they didn't have to take Eddy Curry.
Posted Monday February 16, 2009, About: Is Manny his generation's best player?
That's pretty sad that things had to end so badly between Manny and the Sox that Boston gives away his number in less thna a season. I'm sure after the second world series, Red Sox fans would've assume Ramirez could have his number retired, but that possibly deteriorated FAST!
Posted Monday February 16, 2009, About: Is Manny his generation's best player?
Albert is one of those guys that's always been suspected to have used PEDs, so according to this article's assumptiveness(is that a word?) I think Pujols is out of the discussion. Manny would have to be considered if you take out bonds, clemens, and A-Rod, but I still don't think he'd be the best. Like this guy said, I dont know where the cut-off is for "his generation" but I'd put Greg Maddux before Manny. Even Ken Griffey with the injuries I'm ranking above MAnny, because Junior's defense is/was way better.
Posted Sunday February 15, 2009, About: Would Bears trade Urlacher for Boldin?
Not random. A ton of athletes train in Arizona in the offseason and since Urlacher went to school in that area of the country and is from the west coast, I'm sure he's part of that group.
Posted Sunday February 15, 2009, About: Would Bears trade Urlacher for Boldin?
indeed he did.
Posted Sunday February 15, 2009, About: Would Bears trade Urlacher for Boldin?
he's right. Urlacher was still a fantastic LB last year, just wasnt as great as we saw the previous years. A couple of reasons why: Still a bit injured and he didn't have the pass rush in front of him to allow him to make plays like he had in the past. A lot of that had to do with Ron Rivera leaving to do to the Chargers. If they get the right scheme in there again, Urlacher will return to hall of fame form.

This article is listen under the Truth and Rumors category.

What a great deal this would be though. buuut...it's crazy unlikely that it will happen. Player for player deals are rare enough, especially star player for star player deals...very rare! Fun to think about though and Urlacher went to school in the southwest at New Mexico, so I'm sure he'd be down for an opportunity to return to that area of the country.
Posted Saturday February 14, 2009, About: Galaxy: Beckham will play in L.A.
Glad to hear he didn't give up on his goal to succeed in the States. I think we've all learned that soccer will never be a top three sport, but Beckham and possibly even another soccer superstar could move it above hockey...maybe

this is true.
Posted Saturday February 14, 2009, About: Teams that might trade for Vick
I don't know he usual only likes to bring in talent when it's 30 years or older, haha. Vicks not quite there yet, he'll only be 29 this fall.
Posted Saturday February 14, 2009, About: Teams that might trade for Vick
More TDs than INTs(71 to 52), has/had one of the strongest arms the league has ever seen, and throw a nice tight sprial. Wouldnt say he couldn't throw. Certainly needed work, work he probably wasnt willing to put in, but couldnt throw? That's just you bein a hater.
Posted Saturday February 14, 2009, About: Teams that might trade for Vick
Surprised no one is putting DC in the discussion anymore. Vick, or course, is from Virginia and he grew up watching the Redskins. Not saying I want Vick to be a redskin, but I've heard those rumors a few times over the past few months.
Posted Thursday February 12, 2009, About: Jets interested in Bulger?
my bad. I guess it was a CC he played for out of HS.
Posted Thursday February 12, 2009, About: Jets interested in Bulger?
Word. Ratliff was one of those guys like Flacco who was good enough out of HS to play BCS ball, but circumstances led to him playing in the FCS...wouldnt be surprising at all if he ends up with the job.
Posted Thursday February 12, 2009, About: Jets interested in Bulger?
I think the Jets should rebuild their entire backfield. QB and RB. I don't know what Jones' contract situation is right now, but he's at an age where he most likely will only continue to decline and Leon Washington is a better option anyway. Get a younger tough RB to team with Leon. Then either draft a QB or pickup a vet, depending on whether they want to compete for a title now or in a couple years. Most importantly, they have to limit their turnovers, because their defense can be good enough to carry the team if the offense doesnt screw it up and make them stay on the field most of the game.
Posted Thursday February 12, 2009, About: Cowboys-Raiders deal for T.O.?
Just crazy enough to work. Talk about complete opposite personalities: Russell and Owens. The Raiders need to worry more about retaining Namdi Asomougha though.
