Are they kidding? Maybe they need to find someone to sign the paycheques first THEN get a 3rd line defenceman

3rd line defenseman? Might want to read a bit more carefully. Parrish is a forward.

Demitra is definitely not worth the salary. Toronto would be getting an aging, oft-injured centerman. He's past his prime and it showed a lot this season.

I'd say this is more Therrian's fault than Malkin's...If they guy is sick, then why in the world would you still skate him as if he weren't when he's obviously not doing your team any good and, in fact, in many situations hurting the team??

The most overrated d-man on the market...Any team that's stupid enough to drop $6-8M on him needs to seriously examine their management.

There's talk that the Wild will have one after the Twins new stadium is finished. Which is yet another brilliant move by a Minnesota team...An outdoor baseball stadium in Minnesota.
Posted Monday May 19, 2008, About: Why Gaborik may bolt from Wild
boston...If you look at my comment, I qualified it with if it's the right trade. I would definitely trade Gaborik if the right deal came along. It's going to have to be a star for star trade.

The thing that always gets me about people ragging on Lemaire's system is that, if he's so defensive minded, how are players still having career seasons when they come and play in his system? Rolston was never seen as this productive before he came to Minnesota and now he's widely considered one of the top free agents. Burns had a career year last year and Koivu was on pace for a career year before he got chopped down by Ohlund. Bouchard could be a 80 point a year guy if he'd just shoot the puck more.

The thing about Gaborik as well is that while his points suggest he's a point-per-game player, that's not entirely true. He's a very streaky scorer and often scores goals in bunches. I think that if the Wild had a top, playmaking center for him to play with, that would change quite a bit.
Posted Monday May 19, 2008, About: Why Gaborik may bolt from Wild
Contrary to what many people believe, Gaborik is NOT the franchise player that the Wild envisioned him to be. He's a productive, but oft-injured forward and he proved during the playoffs that he is NOT a leader of the team. While I'd love to see him in a Wild sweater for the duration of his career, I also wouldn't be heartbroken if he were traded for a good value. Lemaire's system is also not what is holding Gaborik back. Quite simply, Gaborik is holding Gaborik back. He has yet to show any semblance of maturity at the age of 27 and is just now focusing on his conditioning after injuries have sidetracked his career, not to mention the fact that he has NEVER had a number one center to play with.

Bottom line is that trading Gaborik could be very beneficial for the franchise, but it needs to be the right trade and not just a spur of the moment trade to get him out of Minnesota.
