Posted Thursday July 02, 2009, About: Blackhawks pitch Havlat via text
I don't know about hockey folks, but generally when I don't have to be "at work" I have time to talk with someone. I somehow don't think he needs to worry about spending all his night and weekend minutes.

I expect the Hawks to be vastly improved next line and once again will have far and away the best division in the league. Hossa needs to get his act together and learn how to work in the playoffs or he'll crap out in Chitown too (Long term deal...ouch bad plan).
Posted Friday June 26, 2009, About: Slumping Ordonez cuts long hair
I'm confused by everyone saying that he sucks. How many players can say that their crappy batting average is .270? I'm under the opinion that it was a mental thing and he just needed to change "anything", it just happens to have been his hair. As an aside: Are we going to start adding haircuts to major league statistics now or is nothing else going on in baseball?

Coming soon: the FN holodeck.
Posted Friday June 26, 2009, About: Manny disappears from minor-league game
Manny's weakness is water? Who knew... Why do we even care anymore at this point?
Posted Monday June 22, 2009, About: Red Wings, Chelios to discuss future
Chris really needs to hang it up this time. He wants to play, his heart is in it, the body just doesn't go fast enough anymore. He'd be a great mentor for our young guys, I'd hope he wouldn't take offense to us having him hang out in Grand Rapids. He can do much for for the team coaching and teaching than he can playing.
Posted Friday June 19, 2009, About: Tigers bench Ordonez indefinitely
I guess I missed the memo where Ordonez is a "power hitter" on our squad. FYI, roids don't help reaction speed. Bad speed maybe, but you still need to see and locate the ball.
Posted Monday June 15, 2009, About: Red Wings want Hossa at right price
If he's not going to produce in the playoffs, dump him for cap space or price him down. We have plenty of permanent talent for scoring, but we'll be shifting focus to our young guys for the next couple years. Honestly, I'm not sure the Wings will make the finals next year. Pending the Sharks actually make it past the 1st round ever...the Sharks, Ducks, and Hawks will all have good teams next year. See you folks in October. Least the Tigers are looking more promising than last year.
Posted Friday June 12, 2009, About: Coyotes sought Glendale concessions
Wow, I just sounded really dumb. I was thinking Scottsdale.
Posted Thursday June 11, 2009, About: Coyotes sought Glendale concessions
The words Glendale and finanially devasted don't go together. It is one of the most affluent areas in the state. It is sorta their own fault though in putting a hockey team in the desert. Seriously, who actually thought that it would work? Midgets named Gary don't count.
Posted Wednesday June 10, 2009, About: Penguins in market for blueliner
Scuderi played awesome last night and it would probably be in the Pens best interest to keep him. I know its been over 10 years, but I still remember seeing Petr Sykora as the Detroit Vipers games at The Palace.
Posted Tuesday June 09, 2009, About: Penguins may shake up No. 1 line
I'm confused by all this talk about Malkin getting the Conn Smythe. The ability to score, doesn't really help anyone if you can't be a two way player. Crosby and Malkin are big offensive threats, not so much defensive ones though. Datsyuk is our top offensive guy and he's also always wayyyy up there in take aways at the end of the year. One way players, while fun to watch, don't usually win championships by themselves. My vote would be for Ozzie.
Posted Monday June 08, 2009, About: NHLPA exec: Pull the plug on Phoenix
I had no idea Candian was a different language. :P
Seriously though, when the players think you're doing something stupid, you probably are. Maybe instead of chasing dollar signs about while putting failing teams in the desert, you should listen to your employees. Who, might I point out, are the only reason you exist in the first place.
Posted Friday June 05, 2009, About: Source: Leafs secretly fighting Coyotes move
Pfft, Basille could buy and sell the Leafs and move them to Antarctica. On what legs are they standing on to whine with?
Posted Wednesday June 03, 2009, About: Balsillie files for team with no name
Hamilton Hammers seems like a rather logical thing as they're in the big industrial area. I'm not quite sure how they'd display it on a jersey and not resemble the USSR flag.
Posted Tuesday June 02, 2009, About: Gretzky in win-lose situation?
Ya know what else Phoenix has a long tradition of?....being a desert. Just because they have a long history of being a poorly thought out hockey market, doesn't make them any less so. Don't play the real team bit either, we have the Detroit Lions who went 0-16 and STILL made money last season, which is something your 'Yotes can't pull off.
Posted Tuesday June 02, 2009, About: Did NHL bend rule for Malkin?
They can do it against the Caps all they want. They play the same one trick pony style you guys do. You prevent one guys from scoring and its pretty well over...you guys really didn't do that so hot either. Having to deal with four pretty darn solid lines is proving a hard nut to crack for Coach Blysma. The Pens have a lot of young talent, but they need to learn how to play smart and not hard. If the Pens win tonight, I'd say it'll go six, however, if they lose...four becomes a distinct possibility.
Posted Tuesday June 02, 2009, About: Will Datsyuk play in Game 3?
I'd enjoy seeing him play, but not at risk to himself. We're doing pretty OK without him thus far. There's no use in getting a careeer ended up 2-0.
Posted Monday June 01, 2009, About: Did NHL bend rule for Malkin?
Remember kids, their no I in team, but their damn sure is a ME when it comes to the Pens.
Malkin 113 points
Crosby 103 points
Staal 49 points
You have what scoring depth now?
Datsyuk 97 points
Zetterberg 73 points
Hossa 71
Franzen, Lidstrom, Rafalski 59
Hudler 57
Kronwall 51
We go 6 guys down before someone has less points than your 3rd guy. Did we not pay attention to what happened with the Cleveland LeBrons?
Posted Monday June 01, 2009, About: Did NHL bend rule for Malkin?
Yea, but we expected as much. They can't take their sacred cows out for a night. The way things have been going though, it really wouldn't matter if he's in or out. Their coach should probably remove him anyway, to send a message to his players that such BS actions will not be tolerated. Also, Pens fans, we're up 2-0 and are missing players from our main lineup. While he might not have many points, I bet Pavel makes your life a bit more entertaining.
Posted Friday May 29, 2009, About: Judge shortens Coyotes relocation decision
Sorry Gary, in bankruptcy stuff money talks. Mr. Balsillie's money is currently aiming to give you the big "FU".
Posted Thursday May 28, 2009, About: Did Crosby jinx Penguins?
I didn't call him anything, I suggested he'd complain about something. Sorta like JR did with Babcock not liking Americans. I followed that up with saying he'd get a few goals too. I've never denied he's a good player, but he'll occasionally get himself in situations we he acts his age. El Bettman kinda more or less put the entire weight of the league on his shoulders.
