however, if everybody hates favre so much, they should be supporting his return. there are 3 other teams in the North that don't like favre and don't like the vikings. it could be the inspiration to take the pack deep this year. Brett, please, pay no attention to these posters. we all love you. please, for the good of the game, for the good of your heart, please sign with the vikings. the cement up there is softening up over time...
1 - I'm sick and tired of the Favre apologists. What Fran said was right on the money. Ted and Mike went back to favre 3 TIMES... 1st, before the draft, "brett, you comin' back?" "NO, I'm retired" Packers draft TWO quarterbacks. Rumors circulate in June about favre coming back. Ted, "Brett, you comin' back?". "NO, I'm retired." Rumors continue throughout July. Ted, "Brett, you comin' back?" (if it should even matter anymore, we drafted TWO quarterbacks.) "NO, I'm retired." No biggie, Aaron has been prepping daily knowing Brett's gone. Enter just before preseason, "Hey, I wanna come back.". Ted, "NO, you're retired" "Relase me so I can go to the vikings". "NO, but we'll give you 20 million to sit on your arse and promote jack squat, or you can compete for the job" "NO, release me".
Yeah, it was the packers who took care of their business wrong. WTF? i'm sick of hearing that argument as there is NO argument. Brett crapped on the fans and the team that was there for him for the past 16+ seasons, who were gonna retire his number, who were gonna worship him as a god for life. Ef him... I, once a huge favre supporter, cannot stand the prissy little *(&^%... Ef him...
2 - 2nd thing that gets my cranking are those apologists who blame Rodgers for last season. Because you weren't watching the packers or paying any kind of attention, i'll give you a clue so you can stop speaking ignorantly. OUR DEFENSE GOT INJURED. i will repeat.... OUR DEFENSE GOT INJURED. Right when the Barnett went down, that was the final straw. Defense could no longer get the job done. I did watch every game, and I saw a first year starter have an great first year. Aaron looks to be a real good quarterback and i'll take that fresh qb over a vengeful prick anytime. Screw Favre, and screw all of those ignorant pr!cks who don't know what they're talking about. It seems as though Fran was paying attention...
I love rivalries, but this STL series against MIL isn't that cool. my team is winning, fine... but really how great is it? We're playing what was not too long ago an awesome team and rival, which is now a shell of what it was. Not very fulfilling victories. And that sucks because this series should be KILLER, a true baseball fans' series. Fans of both sides know what i'm talking about. Drop the stupid troll arguments, it makes fools of everyone. This series should be about two awesome teams with awesome sluggers, freakin' slugging it out. But it's not. It's about one team trying to avoid that mistake pitch, and the other simply avoiding Pujols. That's not baseball. Unfortunately it is what it is because of injuries. I hate injuries. And i'm as upset about the cards injuries as cards fans are. Cubs fans want Zambrano back, I too, want Zambrano back. NL Central is poised to be a seriously awesome division to watch this year, and injuries on any of the teams detract from said awesomeness. Peace...
Roids, cork, tar, etc, really are just variables that can affect statistics. But by how much, do we really know? I would've loved to see the numbers Babe or Hank would've had in todays ball parks. Forget pine tar, juicing, cork, etc.... How about higher altitude vs. lower altitude? Dry vs. humid? Grass vs. artificial turf? There are a lot of "legal" variables that affect these guys' numbers too.
I guess the point i'm making is that all of these records are really up for debate, and that they're impossible to be fair, whether legal or illegal. I'm not trying to be a barry apologist. I personally do not like Barry at all. But one could argue this point, that roids don't necessarily help your eyes and your approach to hitting. Sure it will make the hit ball go harder. But would we have this conversation if all Barry hit were ground balls? He still had the eye and the approach to hit the home runs, and against some very good pitchers. And you could argue without the roids that he still woulda hit a crapload of homeruns and contended just because he was plain and simple a good hitter, and in smaller ball parks. you have to admit that a lot of his HR's were beyond what roids helped him with. that's just my take on this. Hank, you're a class act, and baseball is better because of you.
