Question is, will Favre get boo'd louder in the Metrodome or Lambeau?
Posted Saturday June 06, 2009, About: Zambrano won't re-sign with Cubs
last comment and i'm outta here. I will agree that Zambrano has good abilities. I don't believe he's on roids or roids has anything to do with his pending retirement. i'm not gonna start to accuse the man of that. it's a shame that he sabotages himself, which rubs off on teammates. i'm glad he's not in the dugout of my team as he seems to be more of a cancer than a lifting spirit. and it's a shame.
Posted Saturday June 06, 2009, About: Zambrano won't re-sign with Cubs
i'll back up my comments again, by saying I hope he stays on the cubs. I cannot make that kind of statement for somebody like Carpenter. Carpenter can't get out of Cards land fast enough.
Posted Saturday June 06, 2009, About: Zambrano won't re-sign with Cubs
teammate fights, suspensions, injuries, over inflated contract, just to name a few. and a pitcher with such great numbers sure has had that cy award elude him so far. He has single handedly removed any class or respect the cubs may deserve. do you really think other teams fear the big Z? with those numbers he's compiled you'd think so, but no, he's not feared. he's like so many other classless idiots whose persona over shadows their great stats and what could be a great player. he's not the player teams are afraid of, he's the player teams gear up to frustrate and hope to see blow up like and h-bomb. numbers on paper only tell 1/2 the story. so I go back to my original comment. he's an idiot who hurts his team as much as he's helped it.
Posted Saturday June 06, 2009, About: Agent: Favre doesn't talk about football
given that 95% of favre thread posters are bashing him, and TNR continues to pump out the favre threads, I can only conclude that TNR, like the most of you, want Favre to stay retired. It's not like their threads are pumpin up the favre support at all...

however, if everybody hates favre so much, they should be supporting his return. there are 3 other teams in the North that don't like favre and don't like the vikings. it could be the inspiration to take the pack deep this year. Brett, please, pay no attention to these posters. we all love you. please, for the good of the game, for the good of your heart, please sign with the vikings. the cement up there is softening up over time...
Posted Saturday June 06, 2009, About: Zambrano won't re-sign with Cubs
wow, that sure is one inflated contract to a guy who hurts his team as much as he helps it. i personally hope this classless act stays, and stays on the cubs.

Posted Thursday May 28, 2009, About: Tarkenton: Favre's despicable
I'm gonna go freakin' nuts. two points to make that's really got me goin', again...
1 - I'm sick and tired of the Favre apologists. What Fran said was right on the money. Ted and Mike went back to favre 3 TIMES... 1st, before the draft, "brett, you comin' back?" "NO, I'm retired" Packers draft TWO quarterbacks. Rumors circulate in June about favre coming back. Ted, "Brett, you comin' back?". "NO, I'm retired." Rumors continue throughout July. Ted, "Brett, you comin' back?" (if it should even matter anymore, we drafted TWO quarterbacks.) "NO, I'm retired." No biggie, Aaron has been prepping daily knowing Brett's gone. Enter just before preseason, "Hey, I wanna come back.". Ted, "NO, you're retired" "Relase me so I can go to the vikings". "NO, but we'll give you 20 million to sit on your arse and promote jack squat, or you can compete for the job" "NO, release me".

Yeah, it was the packers who took care of their business wrong. WTF? i'm sick of hearing that argument as there is NO argument. Brett crapped on the fans and the team that was there for him for the past 16+ seasons, who were gonna retire his number, who were gonna worship him as a god for life. Ef him... I, once a huge favre supporter, cannot stand the prissy little *(&^%... Ef him...

2 - 2nd thing that gets my cranking are those apologists who blame Rodgers for last season. Because you weren't watching the packers or paying any kind of attention, i'll give you a clue so you can stop speaking ignorantly. OUR DEFENSE GOT INJURED. i will repeat.... OUR DEFENSE GOT INJURED. Right when the Barnett went down, that was the final straw. Defense could no longer get the job done. I did watch every game, and I saw a first year starter have an great first year. Aaron looks to be a real good quarterback and i'll take that fresh qb over a vengeful prick anytime. Screw Favre, and screw all of those ignorant pr!cks who don't know what they're talking about. It seems as though Fran was paying attention...
Posted Tuesday May 26, 2009, About: Can Brewers land Peavy?
Hey Mike830, you were right, the Brewers were not on Peavy's list in the offseason. Cubs were one of 5 teams on that list. Brewers were predicted to suck in the offseason due to lost pitching, the Cubs were self appointed divisional winners. Oh how things change when the season starts. So is there any reason why Peavy's mind cannot change either? Are you saying he has his list, and that's that? It's not plyable at all? whatever... Not only does the crew have a shot at Peavy, but they also have a shot to land that player the cubby's didn't want. What was his name... hmmm, oh yeah, DeRosa!

Say what you will about chucky, i'm still elated that the kornholer is gone. Man that guy was freakin' terrible. I could only watch MNF when the pack played, and then it was like pulling teeth. Man, Kornholer SUCKED! Thank the heavens above that the combover is out of the booth.
Posted Monday May 18, 2009, About: Winfield signing hinging on Favre?
Hey Antoine, I know a team that could use some help in the backfield. And this team would play the Vikings at least twice this year.
Posted Monday May 18, 2009, About: Favre's agent: No substance to speculation
Okay, all of you want to be rid of Brett Favre?? Sick of Favre, right? Then what ya do is pressure this guy to come back to go to MN. Not only does the pack want a shot at him, but the rest of the division too. And add to that at least 8 games on cement, in a dome he has routinely sucked in. He will not be back the following season even if he survives this season and escapes injury.
Posted Monday May 18, 2009, About: La Russa OK with Cards' youth movement
Does Tony have a choice but to be OK? Title should read, "La Russa OK with Cards' forced youth movement."

I love rivalries, but this STL series against MIL isn't that cool. my team is winning, fine... but really how great is it? We're playing what was not too long ago an awesome team and rival, which is now a shell of what it was. Not very fulfilling victories. And that sucks because this series should be KILLER, a true baseball fans' series. Fans of both sides know what i'm talking about. Drop the stupid troll arguments, it makes fools of everyone. This series should be about two awesome teams with awesome sluggers, freakin' slugging it out. But it's not. It's about one team trying to avoid that mistake pitch, and the other simply avoiding Pujols. That's not baseball. Unfortunately it is what it is because of injuries. I hate injuries. And i'm as upset about the cards injuries as cards fans are. Cubs fans want Zambrano back, I too, want Zambrano back. NL Central is poised to be a seriously awesome division to watch this year, and injuries on any of the teams detract from said awesomeness. Peace...

Posted Saturday May 09, 2009, About: Vikings Plan B: Vick or Anderson?
I too have seen my team through thick and thin. But my team is owned by the people. And I take comfort knowing if Ted Thompson were to bring that guy in, he'd literally be run out of town. You're right, he'd be a cheap athlete. But the distraction he'd bring would be more expensive than to just have paid more for a human being. And what does it say for the NFL where they need to allow psychotic fellons into their business when a world full of athletes exists. We've already seen fan protest in MLB, why are we to think the vikings, who are arguably located in a liberal city, would see no protest there? That's how you let people know your opinion. It doesn't necessarily discount their loyalty, if anything, it enriches their loyalty.
Posted Saturday May 09, 2009, About: Vikings Plan B: Vick or Anderson?
I believe the vikes should grab anderson if they can. He's young and has shown hints of play making, and is clear of baggage. I personally, however, would like to see the vikes make the wrong decision here as i'm the hated packer fan. PLEASE TAKE FAVRE!!! Brett, ya know there are some packers who have the same sense of revenge against you. Can you understand that Brett? If you can, then watch out, you may find yourself with some humility.
Posted Saturday May 09, 2009, About: Vikings Plan B: Vick or Anderson?
Vick can be left alone when he shows empathy for what he's done. People are quick to forget it wasn't just dog fighting. It was freaking racketeering, that included the torturing and inhumane treatment of animals that included electrocution, drowning, starving, and a host of other messed up psycjhotic activities. He didn't rob the 711 to feed his kids. It was the promotion and hosting of such events as well. You could throw in their tax evasion, and maybe even some money laundering. He wasn't in an accident that killed somebody, rather his crimes are those of intent. It seems people are easy to write this all off as a bunch of rednecks watching a Tyson fight which in no way is any apples to apples comparison. And even if what he did wasn't so atrocious, would you want that guy being idolized by your kids? would you wanna take Jr. to a game that will be haunted by animal rights protests? Like it or not, Vick brought that on himself for being a psycho. He may have "paid" the price, but his actions, like any felon, will haunt them the rest of their life. the vikes hire the psycho, well guess what, they're bringing that onto themselves as well. He should be banned form the game, for the good of the game. However, as a Packer fan, I'd love to see Vick be their QB. Constant distraction. Always under the microscope, and always facing defenses that really wanna tee off on him because simply, he does not deserve to play on the same field as those who are human, and embrace the role models they are. Or, I love the Favre prospect as well. His old **** body couldn't take it once a year in the metrodome the way it was years ago. He for the most part played horribly in that dome, not to mention any dome. Now he's gonna play at least 8 games there? on cement Brett? HAHAHA Good luck getting your self perceived revenge against the pack. I don't know one player or fan of the Pack that is afraid of Brett playing in purple. Rather the thought is embraced...

Sportsjocko, you think CV is a scrub? Are you letting your hate distort reality? CV has stepped up HUGE. I can't understand how that is even debatable. His little message and answer on the court defines exactly who CV is. If he's a scrub, than that is one scrub I want to keep on my team and hope gets resigned this offseason, by my team.
Posted Thursday February 26, 2009, About: Brooks shaken by Bucs releases
That's too bad for Tampa fans and Derrick, who I will agree with the rest of you, was one helluva player and leader. Derrick, I know of a team who needs a good veteran linebacker, and who could really use your leadership. Yes, it does get cold there in the winter time. But that's football baby. I guarantee you'll be greeted with open arms.
Posted Saturday February 14, 2009, About: Why Aaron doesn't want HR record
It has taken me a long time to reach this opinion because I am a Crew fan and love Hank, and can't stand Barry.

Roids, cork, tar, etc, really are just variables that can affect statistics. But by how much, do we really know? I would've loved to see the numbers Babe or Hank would've had in todays ball parks. Forget pine tar, juicing, cork, etc.... How about higher altitude vs. lower altitude? Dry vs. humid? Grass vs. artificial turf? There are a lot of "legal" variables that affect these guys' numbers too.

I guess the point i'm making is that all of these records are really up for debate, and that they're impossible to be fair, whether legal or illegal. I'm not trying to be a barry apologist. I personally do not like Barry at all. But one could argue this point, that roids don't necessarily help your eyes and your approach to hitting. Sure it will make the hit ball go harder. But would we have this conversation if all Barry hit were ground balls? He still had the eye and the approach to hit the home runs, and against some very good pitchers. And you could argue without the roids that he still woulda hit a crapload of homeruns and contended just because he was plain and simple a good hitter, and in smaller ball parks. you have to admit that a lot of his HR's were beyond what roids helped him with. that's just my take on this. Hank, you're a class act, and baseball is better because of you.
