FSU is a lock at this point unless they have an unforeseen meltdown against a hobbled Florida. Alabama has the toughest road to go I think. LSU this weekend, Auburn in Jordan-Hare, and the probably Mizzou in the championship game. Thats not a walk in the park. I can easily see Baylor being this years version of the 2004 Auburn team that started the year too far behind in the polls to catch up though if there are 3 undefeated teams at the end of the season. What does the BCS do if FSU, OSU, and Bama all lose in the next three weeks?

So I guess you just think its a forgone conclusion they beat Auburn? The way Auburn runs the ball thats not a gimmie for the Tide.

I don't think its a given two SEC teams make it at this point. In fact I don't think it will happen. Because right now if Alabama wins out they beat the next two highest rated SEC teams in Auburn and Mizzou to do so which is going to drop both of them in the polls. Other than Mizzou I'm not sure anyone else from the East can make a BCS bowl. I think the only way it happens is if Mizzou wins out and beats Alabama in the SEC championship game.

What will happen to the post season though if Alabama is upset in the Iron Bowl? Do we see FSU-OSU or FSU-Baylor if all three of them win out? Or If Mizzou and Auburn both win out and Auburn ends the season as the one loss SEC champion do they leapfrog either OSU and Baylor?

Stanford has shown for two years now why all the people wanting to see Oregon vs. Alabama would not be that great of a game. Stanford plays just like Bama. Strong defense and pound the rock down your throat running game with just enough passing to keep you honest.

Baylor is for real. Oregon can't win if they can't get their offense on the field.

Ha the Vols always have a change in Neyland. Their downfall is they have the worst rushing defense in the conference going against the best rushing offense. I also dont think they can win a shootout with anybody.

Hey I'm not couting that game as a W. UT in Neyland is a tough game no matter how bad they might be. 105K wearing orange and singing rocky top is enough to drive even the most experienced team crazy. This Auburn team is short on experience. They are young but improving. If they walk in counting it as a W then they can easily lose. I don't think Gus will let them walk in there with that attitude though. Should be a decent game. I'm thinking it will end up with a score that very much resembles the Arkansas for Auburn. 35-14 or so.

Yeah Tigers are all over the polls.

If Dobbs goes down then UT would be better off just running the wildcat the rest of the year with Howard or North manning the QB spot.

The long term view is exactly why I would have been starting Dobbs or Fergeson from the get go. Yes it might have made the fans grumble, and they would have taken their lumps the first half of the season. They would have been better off for it in the long term and who knows unless injury occurred they still could have ended up with the same 6-6 record they might end up with now. If the worst case scenario happens and they lose to Auburn and Vanderbilt then they finish the season 5-7 anyway. I doubt they would have been worse than that starting Dobbs or Fergeson for the whole season, plus they would have been better next year for it.

Well Tin Man the Tigers handled their business in Fayettville, now comes the trip to Knoxville. I would go to that game but a noon start time is pretty dang early. I don't know how much tailgating I can get done with a kickoff that early. May just have to watch it in front of the big screen at home. The Vols are a bad team this year though. I have told everyone of these Vols fans I know in Knoxville that Butch should have been starting Dobbs the whole season.

He is their to rebuild the program. None of the QB's on the roster are equiped to run the zone read but Dobbs. Yeah it would have made for a worse won loss record, but at least it would have prepared them for next year. Plus with the first two games having been Western Kentucky and Austin Peay he would have been prepared for SEC play and the rest of the season. Everyone around here was like no way no way. Look what they are doing now though. Starting Dobbs after they are sitting with a 4-4 record. Who knows if Dobbs had been playing the whole season they might of won against UGA and really had the team competing. Now they stand a good chance of not becoming bowl eligible instead of needing two wins in their last three games.

Hopefully something with at least 5% alcohol in it.

I'm not worried about the Alabama game at this point. I'm just worried about going to Fayetteville and getting the W this weekend. Hopefully thats all the team is worried about too. If they host Alabama the last game of the season with only the one W they currently have they will be in position to spoil Alabama's chances at 3 in a row. I'm sure there is nothing they would rather do. I just hope if they do that it gets them a chance to win the final BCS trophy. That would be real nice.
