McGrady stays, and Houston pays the luxury tax to get the 7-footers they need.
C'mon, man; the Rockets gave ya'll a lot of respect. It was just Houston's time. After the Lakers series, the whole nation saw that the Rockets actually do have some talent.
Anyone see Rip Hamilton TRY to guard LeBron during the Cavs/Pistons series? Ha! What a laugh, but you didn't see LeBron tauntingly say anything to him.
RIGHT NOW, at the end of the day, it will be Kobe that makes that game-winning shot, and LeBron bricking it.
I'd still rather have LeBron over Kobe though. LeBron will work his behind off all game so that there won't be need for a game-winning shot.
Shaq is still more than able to carry his weight around; he's actually slimmed down a bit this past year Mr. Laker4Life.
He may still be "fat" by some standards, but muscle takes up a lot of space, and Diesel still has it along with plenty of game left in his tank.
If Houston could somehow buy out or get rid of Mac, that would leave them with a lot of options; including snatching up Shaq.
There's also been talk of picking up D'Andre Jordan from the Clippers.

Yao actually missed only 5 games this year. This is including his off-season surgery, and the '08 summer olympics. After all this activity, and he only missed 5 games?
What an accomplishment in itself, right JGB?
There has been a steady improvement in Yao's performance in recent years as well. He may be close, but hasn't hit his peak yet.
He will be the first man of his size to be a consistently-playing center.
The hornets messed up by letting Pargo go. He was a very solid backup to CP3. They also should have traded for a big man instead of Posey.
The Hornets definitely took a step back this year. They may not make it out of the first round, but I hope they do. Just please don't bring Shaq to N.O.
Hey, how about the Rockets pick up Shaq after Mutombo retires. Hell, why not keep them both, and have a bingo night with the senior citizens.
He's a great player on the rise, and has a lot of skills. I have nothing bad to say about his game, just his eyebrows.
If Cleveland doesn't win a championship this year, then I think every one of the fans, and team members will feel like they didn't accomplish much.
I kind of liked the antics where they were taking team pictures....kind of like "lets remember this fun time, and season that we all had as a team". After that, with the baseball routine, and the dancing, it became more than a bit much.
Forgive me Cleveland fans, but I still believe that the Cavs will be in for a RUDE AWAKENING come playoff time. With such high expectations, and a 1-dimensional system that always feeds through one guy, don't think that a championship will be handed to you.
Hollywood, as always, your wisdom is appreciated.
Of all the let-downs they had this season, I'd sure like to see them at the #8 seed in the West also.
No hating on Spurs fans, b/c they're still a dynasty, BUT it would've been nice to see the '07 Suns/Spurs series without all the suspensions to the Suns players.
Also, no hating on the East, but there's two teams with losing records in the playoff race. The current #7 and #8 seed in the East could battle it out, while the Suns take the #5 spot.
That said, maybe he deserves to get fired. Honestly, I think A&M would take him back with open arms in a year or two.
There is only ONE D-league Lifer on our team, who hasn't played. We got a lot of young rookies the past 2 & 3 years. And they don't need new management. Those are the same arguments that most un-knowledgeable fans make about teams they don't know much about.
Houston is a very deep team that no one gives credit to. They're not looking for much credit though.
If McGrady came off the bench, then Houston may be better with him. The truth is that they play better with him out. This is because whenever he got the ball, the ball stopped, and there was no offensive play going on after it touched his hands. He used to be a slasher in his older days, but had to since resort to shooting jump shots, which he missed a lot.
Currently, Boston's #1 player is hurt. If Cleveland's #1 player was hurt, then how would they fare in the playoffs? I was just trying to bring up the point that Cleveland is still more 1-dimensional, despite any additions they have.
The Cavs are still a great team, no doubt. There probably wouldn't be enough ball for another superstar on that team. King Hog has too big of an appetite.
he's smoking that wisdom, son. Everyone, except Cleveland fans, know that at their best, Boston would DOMINATE the Cavs in a 7-game series. Late in Game 6 or 7, Cleveland would be down, and your favorite King Cavalier will be hogging the ball, taking far-away jump shots, and nicely clanging them off the back of the rim.
I know & agree that LeBron is good, but Cleveland is still WAY more one-dimensional than Boston.
Houston would be dumb to get rid of ANY of the players that NJ wants. NJ has a legitimate chance of making the playoffs & doing some damage if they can develop some chemistry.
Carter still has hops, Devin Harris is becoming a consistent contributor, and the almost established Lopez?...please, I doubt any executive in NJ's office is still trying to deal Carter. This report is for us speculators to speculate.
Houston, leave it alone.
We love you Mutombo. I hope the Houston front office reads this and know that they're making a big mistake if they let him go.
..and by the way, who the hell is this Von Wafer guy that keeps getting playing time instead of Luther Head?
