Paul Pierce is not anywhere near the best player in the NBA. He didn't accomplish almost anything before Kevin Garnett arrived. Granted, he led his team to the Eastern Conference Finals- once. LeBron led his team to the NBA finals with the same quality of supporting cast, if not a worse supporting cast. James, with absolutely no good teammates, took the world champions to game seven. Basketball is a team game, but to decide the best player, a one-on-one game and/or tournament would be the best course of action. James would dismantle Pierce.
