Sampson. He was suspended along with Bassett and another player during this season. Where have you complainers been.
Basset was one of the players who bad mouthed Dackich and suspended. Just what was Crean suppose to do when he was still coaching at marquette.
Crean was also Greenspans choice instead of Sampson in 06. He was over-ruled by Robbie & delegates of the search party.
To think that Crean could fix rules that that were broken before he ever got here is not really being objective. The NCAA had already started its investigations and warned of upcoming penaltys before Crean even visited IU. Why would he have the backing of the players from the past. Benson, Lawskowski, I. Thomas, Graham& others.

Do you know know something that nobody else does. Since you question IU integrety I'm sure you would find some nonsensicle reason true or not. It has always been true of any team, Purdue, Ohio, Minn or whoever not to publically criticize athletes. Things can really get dirty and do a young man damage. It's none of our business.

Crean seems to have a great relationship with his players. Of course, I thought Sampson did to: but now we know what he taught and allowed with his team lead to a bad situation.
It's a shame that Greenspan yielded to a few of the alumni & their wishes to get Sampson when Crean was really at the top of Greenspans list 2 yrs ago. Wow what a great situation that would have been for a hire.

Dackich was neither considered or seriously considered for the new coaching vacancy They needed someone, who in know way, was connected in any way with sampson or his possible accomplices. Unfortunately for Dan this was a no win situation. His resume and slightly better than 500 record in the MAC while not showing he was the coach for the job. In reality McCallum did show a better resume for the job as interim. He helped recruitted most of the players on the team at that time.
He was Sampsons right hand man on the bench in game situations for the last 2 yrs. Even now his name has not been connected with any of the wrong doing. As much as I deplored what Sampson did he was a very good coach. All you can do is ask yourself ; WHY ?
