I don't know if he means it, probably just trying to fire his guys up. I don't know if a lack of leadership is really to blame. Seems like there is just a lack of talent in certain positions and a lack of passion from time to time. Although, maybe that is a result of poor leadership...

Yep, contracts in europe aren't worth anymore than the paper they are printed on. It makes it more likely that he will be back at Fulham next year, but it is far from a guarantee.

He was released by Toronto at the beginning of the year. He wasn't that bad of a player last time I saw him so this could be a decent pickup. He is pretty young so he has time to develop.

Haha, everyone wants McBride for their team. He is just that special kind of player that you would take even if he was missing his legs, just to let his great personality and determination rub off on your team.

You know, I don't think it is a stretch to say that he is the greatest export in MLS history.

Portland? Meh. I am looking for Montreal as the next team in. I think TFC's rapid fans mean that Canada needs/deserves another team.

I don't see any problem with raising the expansion fee to $40 M and I agree that the cap should be raised to, but not by leaps and bounds (such as doubling it to 4 M).

I don't think Gullit is going to be leaving any time soon simply because he is annoyed by some things in MLS. He is getting paid a lot of money, and that tends to help a coach want to stay employed.

Speaking of the national team, I hope that Kenny Cooper gets a few caps with the team in the near future. He could do a halfway decent impression of McBride in a few years if given the opportunity.

I don't think Clark and Bradley can play together in central mid. Maybe in a few years if Bradley becomes more offensive minded. Right now they both play the holding mid role, so they win the ball but then don't distribute it well enough. I think you have either of them in CM, not both at the same time. Landy or Feilhaber (if he gets his act together) should be the attack-minded CM.

Boca has to be in the backline. He is the one who organizes the whole thing and his experience is needed to back up Tankor (err, I mean Gooch). Parkhurst is definately his replacment in about 4 or 5 years maybe.

Also, the US is going to be playing 4-5-1, not a 4-4-2.

Your comments are 100% accurate, DJB. I personally like it when Donovan shows his "FU side" (very nice, Lazymike). He plays a lot better and that passion and cockiness is something that you want in a striker. I hope he keeps it up because all I care about is if he scores goals, not if I would like to be friends with him.

And I think Gullit is very smart by not praising Donovan too much. He wants to keep that fire in him. After the game on Saturday he said that Donovan played well, but Sean Franklin was their best player. And I love Donovan's response to Preki's comments: ???If you don???t like me jumping to celebrate, then don???t let me score.??? That is a classic FU. Keep it up through the WC, Landon!
