And what does Aberdeen mean that they cannot afford Holden? He is out of contract so there is no transfer fee. Just got to pay his salary, and it isn't going to be that high.
And what is with the picture T&E. You don't have picture of Soler so you instead put in a picture that looks like Wolyneic is trying to give birth or something.
Don't know much about Soler, but NYRB needs someone who will make good player decisions, something that NYRB has never really done.
Jordan Harvey (D), Colorado Rapids
Andrew Jacobsen (M), D.C. United
Brad Knighton (G), New England Revolution
Sebastien Le Toux (F), Seattle Sounders FC
Stefani Miglioranzi (M), L.A. Galaxy
Alejandro Moreno (F), Columbus Crew
Dave Myrie (D), Chicago Fire
Shea Salinas (M), San Jose Earthquakes
Shavar Thomas (D, Chivas USA
Nick Zimmerman (M), New York Red Bulls
Yeah, some surprising choices by Nowak for sure. I agree with Otergod that he must have something up his sleave because didn't really select any big name players. I am thinking that he is looking to go and get players from outside MLS. I am surprised he didn't pick Convey. I know he has been awful lately, but coming into the right environment (your hometown) can help a lost player find his way again. I cannot believe he took Miglioranzi, I think that guy is terrible.
Like him or not, looks like Arry is a psychic.
The problem I have is that if we want any chance to do anything in the World Cup we need to be beating teams like Slovakia and Denmark. I think most USMNT fans believe we have the ability to do that and therefore we need to show it, even if our top squad isn't on the pitch. Injuries happen and I would be shocked if one didn't creep up right before the World Cup so we need to be able to perform when we are forced to go with a second or third choice player. Not only that, but against Denmark several players who are essentially first team locks (Bradley, Clark, Altidore) looked awful.
The problem with a game against Holland is that losing by 5 goals just before the World Cup is not going to help the teams confidence, which is already down after two bad friendlies. A team's mental state is just as important as its physical ability, especially in the biggest stage in sports.
And dynamo, go easy on Arry. Hes got my side crackin'.
I am very doubtful about our chances at South Africa. I would be happy with one win. The way things have been going we are only going to have half of our team not battling injury.
In all honesty it wouldn't really answer the persons accent, it just that MLS' announcers are terrible.
The european method of having Chelsea or Man Utd win the league with three games left in a tie at Aston Villa, for example, is incredibly unsatisfying. It may be more equitable, but no way is a lack of playoffs better for the fans or the league.
Anyways that regular season champ isn't ignored. They get the supporters shield and they also get a spot in the CONCACAF Champion's League. I like the system that MLS has and I think that most people not stuck on "its not the way europe does it" would agree.
Unbelievable the amount of injuries that affected the game. RSL had two injuries and LA had Becks struggling with injury and had to use two substitutions for injuries to Ricketts and Gonzalez. Ricketts was the biggest loss because the game always looked like going to a shootout after full time. Both teams looked completely beat by the 80 minutes mark. Makes me wonder if the playoffs are a little too long or they need more time in between games. Something to consider.
So, how about we talked about MLS expansion in general? MLS is currently at 18 teams and will be adding 2 more before it is likely done expanding for quite a while. I think that the next city to get a team will be Montreal. The support in Canada for MLS has been tremendous and Montreal would offer a large market. I also like bringing in USL teams because it makes for a smooth transition to the league (see Seattle).
The other obvious choice for expansion seems to be St. Louis, but I would prefer to see Kansas City move to St. Louis as I don't think KC is a very good location for a MLS team and Missouri certainly doesn't need two teams. So that leaves one more expansion slot. I think that the best places to fill that last spot would be another NY team (but don't share the stadium with NYRB), Minneapolis, or a Arizona/New Mexico team. Don't even joke about a Florida team....
